SALTO Systems has delivered a complete electronic access control solution for all premium residences of Luxemburg based real estate company Top-Invest. Beweng Security Solutions, a Luxemburg based SALTO Premium Partner installed and configured the system.
Top-Invest use the solution from SALTO Systems to manage 3 apartment buildings, 3 detached houses, and a nursery. The real estate company operates 100 access points in all, 90 of which are equipped with SALTO XS4 electronic locks, 3 with SALTO GEO electronic cylinders (which were antique doors that could not be drilled to fit XS4 locks) and 7 with XS4 on-line and off-line wall readers.
About 140 persons are centrally managed by Top-Invest using SALTO’s Pro Access software, with off-line locks used for apartment doors, basement doors and utility room doors. On-line wall readers are installed at entrance doors, corridor doors, garage doors and the electronic mailbox system. One off-line wall reader is also fitted to an elevator which controls access to a penthouse apartment.
The solution is based on SALTO’s patented Data-on-Card technology SALTO Virtual Network (SVN). In SVN all access rights are stored on the ID badges – thus avoiding any cabling with locks and cylinders. All information, e.g. on blocked badges or battery status, is forwarded to the controlling PC via SVN. The on-line wall readers serve as update terminals for access rights. They also transmit all information received from badges to the central server. Mifare DESfire EV1 is used as identification technology.
The main reason for selecting SALTO Systems’ solution was its flexibility. Top-Invest wanted to ensure a quick reaction on any changes while equally reducing time and costs for key management. Therefore a mechanical locking system was out of question. In case one of its clients forgets or loses a key, Top-Invest are able to open their door without even being present on-site! Currently the company is building 3 more apartment buildings, all of which will also be equipped with a SALTO electronic access control solution.
