SCD has secured a pivotal contract to supply hundreds of High Definition Mid-Wave Infrared (HD MWIR) detectors to a noteworthy customer in Asia.
These detectors are planned for integration into advanced Remote Weapon Systems (RWS) scheduled for deployment at multiple international sites, reinforcing SCD's continued influence in the defense technology sector.
EOIR Systems for Ground Platforms
This significant order results from a collaborative development effort with a long-standing client who has previously utilized earlier MWIR generations provided by SCD. The transition to SCD’s HD MWIR detector family, featuring the BlackBird 1280, signifies a major advancement in Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) systems for ground platforms.
Benefits include superior image quality, enhanced Detection, Recognition, and Identification (DRI) capabilities, increased reliability, and improved operational endurance.

The latest 10µm pixel pitch/HD resolution technology offers several operational advantages, such as a broader field of view while maintaining resolution, enhanced target detection and recognition accuracy, and the possibility for optical zoom without substantial new optics investment.
