The Nemetschek Group has announced a significant collaboration with Vienna Airport to implement its dRofus dTwin solution, aimed at enhancing operations and asset management across the airport's extensive facilities.
This partnership will introduce Nemetschek’s digital twin technology, enabling openBIM-based facility management to optimize process and information sharing throughout the airport's lifecycle.

By integrating the dRofus dTwin technology, Vienna Airport will gain comprehensive digital replicas of its infrastructure, offering a centralized platform that connects and harmonizes relevant building and asset information from multiple sources.

Handling over 31 million passengers, Vienna Airport is Austria’s largest and among Europe’s top airports. The upcoming expansion of Terminal 3, planned for completion in 2027, will include a new central security checkpoint, additional gates, and a spacious shopping and restaurant area.

The power of dRofus dTwin will provide comprehensive digital replicas of the airport’s infrastructure across its whole lifecycle, supplying a central platform that is connecting and harmonizing all process relevant building and asset information from multiple sources, systems and stakeholders to support all users with up-to-date building information.

With more than 31 million passengers, Vienna Airport is the largest Austrian airport and among the top European airports.
With the planned expansion of Terminal 3 in 2027, Vienna Airport will create a future-oriented ambience with 70,000 m² on three levels, a new central security checkpoint, additional gates, comfortable lounges and, above all, a spacious and experience-oriented shopping and restaurant area. dRofus dTwin is already being used for this purpose.
