Traditional MSP-client infrastructure connections often require open ports. The updated MSP Direct Connect in v11.1 removes this necessity, offering a seamless framework for MSPs to deploy and onboard tenants without complex network configuration. All communications remain encrypted, meeting stringent security standards. Direct Connect now supports Hyper-V and Proxmox VE alongside VMware and Windows/Linux physical machines.
Real-Time Replication for VMware
Real-Time Replication, now fully released, enables clients to maintain synchronized replicas of VMware VMs. The feature simplifies the setup process by automatically deploying necessary components like the IO Filter and Journal Service. Clients can automate failover processes to real-time replicas through the Site Recovery workflow, ensuring uninterrupted service availability without data loss or human intervention.
Granular Backup Options
The new granular backup functionality permits clients to select specific folders to back up within Windows and Linux physical machines. These backups can be stored in various locations, including local, cloud, deduplication appliances, and file shares, with support for immutability and encryption. Restoration is flexible, allowing recovery to SMB/NFS shares, email dispatch, or direct browser download.

Traditional connections between MSP infrastructure and client sites often require open ports on the tenant’s side. The enhanced MSP Direct Connect eliminates the need for open ports on the client’s side.
This introduces a tailored MSP-tenant connection framework where MSPs can streamline deployment and tenant onboarding with no complex network configurations needed.
All communication between the MSP Director and Client Transporter is encrypted, ensuring compliance with strict internal and external security standards. v11.1 also extends Direct Connect’s support to include Hyper-V and Proxmox VE alongside VMware and Windows/Linux physical machines to enable seamless service delivery across diverse environments.

Now out of beta and fully released, the Real-Time Replication functionality enables customers to create replicas of VMware VMs and keep them updated with the source VM as changes are made in real time.
Setting up real-time replication is now simpler, as the solution automatically deploys the IO Filter and Journal Service, eliminating the need for manual setups and saving valuable time.
Zero data loss and zero human intervention
Additionally, customers can add a real-time replication failover action directly to the Site Recovery workflow to automate the failover process to the real-time VM replicas. Whenever needed, they can launch the Site Recovery job, which triggers an automatic failover to the real-time replicas.
VM replicas can take over before anyone notices—ensuring zero data loss and zero human intervention, while maintaining “always-on” service availability. For added security, replicated data transmitted over unsecured WAN connections is encrypted to prevent interception or unauthorized access.

This new capability allows customers to select specific folders within a machine to back up. With v11.1, they can back up specific folders and volumes in addition to full physical Windows and Linux machines.
