Kaseya, a provider of cybersecurity and IT management software driven by AI, recently hosted its virtual innovation summit, Kaseya Connect Edge.
The event attracted numerous managed service providers (MSPs) and IT professionals, focusing on emerging technologies and strategies in IT, including AI, cyber resilience, compliance, automation, and operational efficiency. A key highlight from the summit was the announcement of enhanced features for Datto Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) aimed at bolstering compliance and simplifying endpoint management for MSPs and IT teams.
Enhancements to Support FIPS 140-3 Standards
As industries worldwide, including government, healthcare, finance, and defense, move towards adopting FIPS 140-3 standards, many existing RMM platforms are unprepared to meet these requirements.
Consequently, many MSPs and IT teams risk losing contracts with these sectors. In response, Kaseya will integrate FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography into Datto RMM, free of charge, beginning in October 2026. This addition leverages an internationally recognized, NIST-validated cryptographic module, enabling MSPs and IT teams to comply with the evolving standards at their pace.
Assurance Through NIST-Validated Cryptography

The cryptography integrated into Datto RMM is based on NIST-validated modules, offering organizations certified assurance over self-assessed encryption claims.
This update does not compromise the platform's functionality, maintaining full capabilities in patching, automation, monitoring, and remote control. Additionally, audit-ready logging is included from the outset to mitigate audit and legal risks. Pratik Wadher, Kaseya's Chief Technology Officer, emphasized, "As regulatory requirements continue to evolve, MSPs and IT teams shouldn't have to choose between compliance and operational efficiency."
Integration of Native Apple MDM
Traditionally, MSPs and IT teams managed mobile devices with separate Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools, increasing costs and causing visibility issues.
Starting in early October 2026, Datto RMM will introduce native Apple MDM, providing a unified view for managing iOS, iPadOS, and macOS devices. This integration allows for device enrollment, configuration, and management directly within the RMM platform through Apple Business Manager. It offers centralized security and compliance controls, app deployment, and remote actions, all while consolidating mobile devices with other endpoints within existing dashboards and compliance reports.

Among the announcements unveiled at Connect Edge were two significant enhancements to Datto RMM designed to help MSPs and IT teams strengthen compliance, simplify endpoint management and expand opportunities in regulated and Apple-centric environments.
Core communication channels
As governments and regulated industries around the world transition toward the FIPS 140-3 requirements, many RMM platforms are not yet equipped to support the new standard. This gap has already locked MSPs and IT teams out of deals with government, healthcare, finance and defense. Kaseya is closing this gap by adding FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography to Datto RMM, at no additional cost, starting in October 2026.
Built on an international standard, NIST-validated cryptographic module, the capability covers the platform’s core communication channels and is controlled through a single account-wide toggle, off by default, giving MSPs and IT teams a way to meet the new standard on their own timeline.
NIST-validated module
Because the cryptography is built on a NIST-validated module rather than a vendor’s self-described claim of strong encryption, organizations get independently certified assurance. Additionally, the update requires no trade-off in capability: patching, automation, monitoring and remote control all remain fully intact, with audit-ready logging built in from day one to reduce audit and legal exposure.

Managed mobile devices
MSPs and IT teams have long managed mobile devices through separate Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools, leading to extra costs, fragmented visibility, and gaps in an otherwise unified environment.
Starting in early October 2026, Datto RMM will add native Apple MDM to provide a centralized view for MSPs and IT teams, with the ability to enroll, configure, and manage iOS, iPadOS, and macOS devices directly within their existing platform.
Technicians will now be able to enroll devices individually or in bulk through Apple Business Manager, apply centralized security and compliance policies, deploy apps, and take remote action all without leaving the platform. Additionally, mobile devices will appear alongside other endpoints in existing dashboards, filters, and compliance reports, giving teams complete visibility.
