Genting Casino at Westfield Stratford City has significantly improved its fire alarm system with the introduction of Comelit-PAC technology.
This upgrade was executed in collaboration with installation experts VTF&S, enhancing the safety protocols at the UK's largest casino floor known for its extensive poker room. Genting Stratford is a bustling venue, operating 24/7, making it imperative that any infrastructure improvements occur with minimal disruption to its continuous flow of guests and employees.
Addressing Fire Alarm System Limitations
The previous fire alarm system at the casino was based on a closed protocol, which increasingly posed challenges, as even minor modifications necessitated specialist call-outs. This not only drove up costs but also delayed response times.
The new Comelit-PAC four-loop fire system, with its open protocol design, presents a more adaptable solution, facilitating maintenance and reducing long-term operational expenses. This system enhances reliability and quickens the process of identifying and resolving faults, aligning well with the requirements of a busy, high-traffic environment.
Remote Monitoring and Seamless Installation
The installation, conducted by VTF&S, proceeded smoothly while the casino remained fully active
The upgrade includes Comelit-PAC’s complimentary cloud connection, enabling remote monitoring and support. With secure cloud access, engineers can often diagnose and fix issues instantly without needing an on-site visit.
The installation, conducted by VTF&S, proceeded smoothly while the casino remained fully active. Operating in such an environment demanded meticulous planning and collaboration, with Comelit-PAC’s technical team offering crucial support to ensure the upgrade was executed seamlessly, laying the groundwork for efficient, ongoing support through remote connectivity.
Successful Collaboration and Implementation
The success of this initiative was highly dependent on the robust collaboration among Genting Casino, VTF&S, and Comelit-PAC. Precise communication and detailed planning allowed for a safe and efficient upgrade while the casino continued its regular operations.
Ben Howley of Comelit-PAC highlighted the project's achievements, stating, “This project demonstrates with the right teamwork and planning, even complex upgrades can be delivered seamlessly in a live venue. Genting Casino now has a system that was implemented safely and efficiently and simple to maintain even remotely, thanks to the strong partnership between all parties involved.”
