Comelit-PAC has introduced a new series of linear beam smoke detectors aimed at enhancing fire safety in large, open environments.
Utilizing advanced infrared beam technology, these detectors are designed for easy installation and compatibility with both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems. The devices are particularly suited for settings like warehouses, atriums, industrial plants, sports halls, and other structures with high ceilings, monitoring smoke over distances up to 120 meters.
Comprehensive Solutions for Fire Systems
The range includes four variations of the beam detectors, accommodating distances from 5 to 60 meters and from 50 to 120 meters. These models work seamlessly with Comelit-PAC's Logifire addressable panels as well as with standard fire systems.
Addressable models are further certified to EN54-17, offering short-circuit isolation to enhance reliability
Mandy Bowden, Fire Systems Business Manager for the UK and ROI at Comelit-PAC, explains, "As warehouses become larger, industrial facilities more complex and public spaces increasingly multi-purpose, there's growing demand for technologies to deliver reliable coverage without adding unnecessary complexity. Our new beam detectors are giving customers access to a broader range of solutions from a single trusted partner, making it easier to specify and support the right system for every application."
Features for Easy Installation and Reliability
The detectors are certified to EN54-12, ensuring compliance with international standards for smoke detection. Addressable models are further certified to EN54-17, offering short-circuit isolation to enhance reliability.
The addition of smart alignment technology aids in automatic signal optimization during setup, minimizing calibration efforts. An integrated laser pointer is included to streamline installation. These detectors automatically adapt to environmental changes that might otherwise affect performance, such as dust accumulation, minor structural shifts, and temperature variability, thereby reducing false alarms and signaling when maintenance is needed.
Advanced Functionalities and Environmental Suitability
The detectors are equipped to function in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +60°C
The addressable detectors come equipped with enhanced functionalities accessed through a control panel, including programming capabilities, real-time alignment displays, and dual sensitivity settings tailored for both day and night conditions. They are engineered to operate with low power consumption, either directly from the system loop or via an external power source.
Mandy Bowden concludes, "Every site varies considerably in scale and complexity, which means fire detection technologies need to respond to very different operational demands. The focus of this launch is to present solutions to maintain consistent performance despite changing environmental conditions over time. Long-term reliability and suitability for the environment are now just as important as meeting the initial design requirements."
Designed with an IP65 rating, the detectors are equipped to function in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +60°C. They offer remote indicator connections and conventional models can be integrated with third-party systems, offering flexible solutions for diverse applications.
