DVTEL, INC., IP video surveillance solutions provider, recently received the award for Best Video Storage, Distribution and Management Product at the Security Industry Association’s New Product Showcase (NPS) at ISC West 2012. The award program recognizes the best security product innovations introduced over the past year. This year’s competition included 70 entrants and was assessed by a panel of judges comprised of system integrators, end users, industry journalists, manufacturers and distributors with numerous years of experience in the security market.

An industry first, TruWitness transforms cell phones into real-time, networked video surveillance cameras. Users can tap into the power of their smart devices to stream, record, analyze, review and export video from any location. Available with DVTEL’s Latitude 6.2 VMS, the product operates over WiFi, 3G/4G and LTE networks. TruWitness provides security and operational teams with greater mobility and enhanced awareness. TruWitness extends the coverage of surveillance networks into areas not covered by fixed cameras, and enables the deployment and use of cameras in real time, as the needs arise.

“Partners and end users are searching for solutions that enable them to deliver a high level of situational awareness to enable quick response and more informed decision-?making in crisis situations,” said Yoav Stern, President and CEO, DVTEL. “TruWitness is but one example of what DVTEL’s creative engineering team can deliver, providing our customers with the tools to enhance their surveillance network.”

TruWitness is currently available to existing and new Latitude 6.2 users free of charge. It is supported on Android based smart phones running on OS version 2.2 and above.
