Honeywell announces integration of Galaxy Dimension, Fusion and HRDP with Control Room Software
The integration further strengthens Honeywell's commercial security offering

Honeywell announced that its Galaxy® Dimension intruder alarm panels can now be fully integrated with Initsys Merlin 3 advanced control room software. This integration further strengthens Honeywell's commercial security portfolio by allowing integrators and end-users looking for remotely monitored solutions to combine their intruder alarms with new or existing CCTV networks, enhancing central monitoring capabilities without the need to replace existing systems. The addition of CCTV imagery to the central monitoring system also allows monitoring specialists to quickly distinguish false alarms from events requiring attention, thus enabling a faster and more effective response to security breaches.

Merlin 3 software can now also be used to integrate Honeywell's latest Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and Network Video Recorder (NVR) ranges including the Fusion IV, HRDP and Rapid Eye™ series (and RapidEye with Active Alert video analytics) with the intruder panel outputs, boosting functionality by allowing the system to instantly connect to the camera located nearest to an alarm and begin recording the incident. The software can then automatically operate the camera's pan tilt and zoom functions to focus on the source of the disturbance, relieving control room operators of the responsibility of manually selecting the appropriate camera and locating the scene under alarm conditions. All captured images can then be viewed alongside live real-time video at the Central Station, and suitable action can to be taken immediately. The software also provides web-based access, letting authorized users view live video footage of alarms events from remote locations and provide immediate input into how best to handle the situation.

"The integration of Honeywell Galaxy Dimension, Fusion, HRDP and RapidEye DVRs and NVR's with the Initsys Merlin 3 control room software further strengthens Honeywell's commercial security offering for medium and large scale organizations desiring remote monitoring and underpins our position as a leading provider of security products for integrated security solutions," comments Jeremy Kimber, EMEA Strategy & Channel Marketing Director, Honeywell Security Group. "The combination of Honeywell's intruder alarm panels and DVR/NVR ranges provides end-users with a truly comprehensive security offering, while the ability to link to the advanced control room capabilities provided by Merlin 3 further ensures that security incidents will be efficiently dealt with wherever and whenever they occur."
