HID Global, the premier manufacturer of contactless access control cards and readers for the security industry, today announced that Anton Fischer has been hired as market development manager for HID's newest product line, AxioTM.  Based in Germany, Mr. Fischer is responsible for product management and market development and reports to Debra Spitler, HID Global's executive vice president of HID Connect.

AxioTM is an RFID electromechanical locking cylinder, which uses contactless access control cards to unlock the door.  With AxioTM, users can economically add the security of electronic access control to any door by applying advanced access control features to a locking cylinder.  AxioTM will be shown in HID's stand E106 at the upcoming IFSEC tradeshow in Birmingham, UK from 8-11 of May 2006.

"With his extensive access control industry experience, Mr. Fischer is a perfect complement to the HID Global team," said Debra Spitler, HID Global's executive vice president of HID Connect.  "Mr. Fischer's knowledge of the access control industry and previous experience with the product will ensure that HID Global's customers are able to economically extend their access control offering to doors typically secured with lock and key."

"I am pleased to be a part of the HID Global team," said Mr. Fischer.  "I look forward to working with OEM customers to help them grow their business by offering contactless access control at more doors."

Bringing over 15 years of experience in the access control industry, Mr. Fischer is uniquely qualified to immediately begin working with customers on the integration of the AxioTM product into existing access control system platforms.  Mr. Fischer joins HID from Honeywell, where he was market leader for access in EMEA.  Prior to this position, Mr. Fischer also held roles as product marketing manager for access control in EMEA and area sales manager for Honeywell WSE.  Before that, Mr. Fischer worked in various sales and management positions within the access control technology sector.
