The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced that Janet Fenner, Director of Marketing North America for Samsung Techwin America, has been appointed to the position of Chair, SIA Marketing Committee. With more than 600 member companies, SIA is the principal professional security industry association for advancing member interests.

“Janet’s accomplishments and contributions to Samsung, as well as prior employers Brady People ID and Temtec, have proven she has the experience, industry expertise and vision to help SIA better communicate the services and advantages that SIA delivers to existing and prospective members,” said Don Erickson, CEO, SIA. “On behalf of SIA, I would like to welcome Janet on-board as the Chair of the SIA Marketing Committee.”

Ms. Fenner has been in marketing positions within the professional security industry for almost 20 years. Prior to joining Samsung Techwin, she held positions with Brady People ID and Temtec. In addition to her new role as SIA Marketing Chair, Ms. Fenner is also an Executive Board Member of Mission 500, a non-profit organization within the security industry dedicated to serving the needs of children and communities in crisis. Ms. Fenner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from New Jersey’s Montclair State University.

Voice Of Professional Security Industry

“SIA is an exceptional organization that is an invaluable source of education, information and lobbying for the professional security industry. It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Marketing Committee Chair for SIA,” said Ms. Fenner. 

Ms. Fenner’s objectives in leading the Committee will focus on positioning SIA as the voice of the professional security industry, particularly for the evolving areas of cybersecurity and the Internet of Things, while employing new integrated media strategies to further increase the association’s share of voice in the media.

Beginning in January 2016, Ms. Fenner’s appointment will continue for two years.
