Teledyne FLIR OEM, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, has introduced the Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000, a new addition to its rebranded Neutrino ISR Series. This model stands out with its 20x Continuous Zoom (CZ), offering the longest range among the Neutrino ISR offerings.
The launch underscores the company's commitment to meeting evolving demands in the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) sector.
Advancements in ISR Capabilities
According to Jared Faraudo, vice president of product management at Teledyne FLIR OEM, "The Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) market in 2026 continues to expand to accommodate new applications and changing needs. The Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000 is engineered to meet the most demanding long-range requirements for border surveillance, perimeter security, and Counter-UAS (C-UAS) missions."
This model boasts the longest detection, recognition, and identification (DRI) ranges in the Neutrino ISR series, capable of detecting vehicles at 34 km, recognizing them at 23.5 km, and identifying them at 20 km.
Turnkey Solutions for Integrators
The Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000 provides a comprehensive solution for integrators focused on developing mid- to long-range ISR systems. It combines Teledyne FLIR OEM's Neutrino Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) camera modules with integrated CZ lenses, offering a single-source for camera, lens, and electronic components.
This integrated approach aims to enhance performance while minimizing development risks, costs, and time to market.
High-Resolution Thermal Imaging
Includes a cooled 1280×1024 MWIR sensor with 8 μm pixel pitch for enhanced thermal imagingEquipped with a cooled 1280x1024 thermal resolution Neutrino SX8 MWIR sensor and an 8 μm pixel pitch, the system offers advanced thermal sensitivity and imaging capabilities. The factory-integrated 50 mm to 1000 mm CZ lens is designed to streamline integration and maximize system performance.
The system also features the durable Teledyne FLIR FL100 linear Stirling cooler, noted for its mean time to failure (MTTF) exceeding 27,000 hours and supported by a two-year warranty.
Integration and AI Capabilities
To facilitate development and reduce time to market, the model incorporates imaging processing and interface electronics from InVeo Designs LLC's AgileCore™, providing an industry-standard interface for flexible connectivity, including Gigabit Ethernet, Camera Link, and HD-SDI.
The Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000 also supports Prism™ AI, allowing for advanced detection, tracking, and classification. Integrators can leverage Prism ISP libraries for improved data fidelity through features such as super-resolution and contrast enhancement.
Compliance and Development Support
The Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000 is NDAA-compliant and not subject to ITAR regulations, classified under the U.S. Department of Commerce jurisdiction as EAR 6A003.b.4.a. This classification enhances flexibility for international collaboration.
Teledyne FLIR OEM also provides a comprehensive Software Development Kit (SDK), as well as integration support and documentation from their technical services team, aiding integrators in maximizing the benefits of the system.
