  • Synergy introduces video watermarking to enhance video security against unauthorized sharing.

Synectics has launched a new version of its Synergy software, introducing key enhancements aimed at enhancing incident handling, field data integration, and video security.

The update brings forward new geolocation functionalities, centered on precise incident identification, alongside mobile-first incident reporting tools and strengthened video security measures.

These improvements are designed to facilitate quicker responses and more effective decision-making by security operators.

Enhanced Geolocation for Precise Incident Management

The latest version of Synergy incorporates the what3words feature, which allows for ultra-precise location tagging to assist in the accurate coordination of incidents. This feature is particularly advantageous in environments that are remote, complex, or otherwise challenging to describe.

This new capability builds upon Synergy's existing mapping support, which includes integration with OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, as well as locally hosted CAD and image files, offering a well-rounded view of assets, situational environments, and incident sites.

Field Data Collection and Real-Time Collaboration

Patrols, maintenance, and safety teams can now handle incidents in the Synergy appSecurity personnel such as patrols, maintenance teams, and health and safety staff can now engage more directly with incidents through the Synergy mobile app. This provides the ability to submit evidence, issue alerts, and initiate workflows directly from the field, ensuring that crucial information is relayed to the control room promptly.

Jon Squires, Head of Product Strategy at Synectics, states, “By giving field-based personnel the tools to submit evidence back to the control room, we're enabling real-time collaboration and greater situational awareness. Ultimately, this supports improved response times and better outcomes.

Video Security and Data Protection Enhancements

To augment video security, Synergy has integrated video watermarking capabilities across its web platform, mobile app, and core system.

This feature embeds the identity of the system owner and the operator's username directly into live, recorded, and incident-related video footage, serving as a robust deterrent against unauthorized sharing.
