Unlike conventional codecs that treat all pixels the same, prompting compromises between image quality and storage efficiency, Guanlan Encoding distinguishes vital scene elements like people and vehicles. It maintains these at high clarity using precise Region of Interest (ROI) segmentation while ultra-compressing unnecessary background information.

The technology uses two synergistic modes: Dynamic Sensing, which adjusts bitrate allocation in real time for detail preservation in complex, fast-moving scenes, and Static Optimization, which applies high compression to still or low-motion footage. This dual approach advances video encoding from a standard method to an adaptable, on-demand solution.

As Guanlan Encoding conforms to H.265, it integrates smoothly with existing H.265 decoders, Hikvision and third-party devices, and supports advanced AI analytics. Users of Hikvision DeepinView(X)-Series Network and PTZ Cameras, Ultra-Series Cameras, Cameras with ColorVu 3.0, and DVRs can already utilize this technology, with further expansions planned.
