Gibraltar, a manufacturer of anti-ram vehicle barriers used across the globe has announced they have been awarded contracts to supply an additional 2,000+ bollards to be installed on Las Vegas Boulevard to protect pedestrians from errant vehicles.
Bollard types
Gibraltar has supplied 1,500+ bollards to the county on previous construction phases. The county utilized a combination of Gibraltar’s proprietary shallow foundation design as well as standard foundation designs.
Bollard types used on the project are designed to meet ASTM F2656-07 M50 P1 requirements. The bollards are designed to withstand a 15,000 lbs. (7.5 ton) medium-duty truck traveling at 50 MPH.

Gibraltar is supplying the bollards to UNICON Contracting, Las Vegas Paving, and MMC, Inc. in Las Vegas.
Crash-rated bollards are a key component of Gibraltar’s anti-ram barrier portfolio, which includes offerings of crash-certified fences, anti-ram crash gates, wedge barriers, portable/ cellphone vehicle barriers, and vertical lift barriers.
Gibraltar’s barriers can be found on both the USACE DOD Anti-Ram Barrier List and the US Department of State Barrier List.
