SANS joined forces with industry leaders and experts to strengthen the cybersecurity of Industrial Control Systems

Ben Kaintoch brings significant ICS security experience to SANS having worked with many of the world’s largest organisations

SANS Institute, the world’s largest cybersecurity training and certification organisation, has announced the appointment of a dedicated ICS / SCADA Director for the EMEA region. Ben Kaintoch brings significant ICS security experience to SANS having worked with many of the world’s largest organisations whilst at QinetiQ, Lockheed Martin and most recently L3 TRL Technology.

In 2012, SANS joined forces with industry leaders and experts to strengthen the cybersecurity of Industrial Control Systems by creating a standardised training program and GIAC certification to assist those tasked with protecting critical national infrastructure. The initiative equips security professionals and control system engineers with the security awareness, work-specific knowledge, and hands-on technical skills needed to secure automation and control system technology.

SANS EMEA MD, Andrew Smith comments, “ SANS' ICS security training program is now seen as the benchmark for governments and organisations as they implement plans to secure critical infrastructure. Ben’s appointment as a dedicated ICS security specialist for the EMEA region adds to our existing team of experts and ensures SANS will continue to lead the way in providing consultation, training and certification within this key area.”
