Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalization solutions, recently announced that Alyssa Arredondo, senior marketing manager for Datacard Group, will be speaking at the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) 2013 Expo taking place June 4-7, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
The 2013 ICMA EXPO will feature a variety of presentations from different perspectives and address management and technical matters, industry trends, personalization and production issues, as well as new applications and marketing tips. Arredondo will be giving a presentation on “EMV and Mobile: A Case Study Convergence” on Thursday, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. This session will outline a recent mobile payments beta with a large U.S. issuer and how implementing an EMV structure in the U.S. will help enable overall adoption of contactless mobile payments.
“The infrastructure put into place for rolling out EMV in the U.S. will play a large role in the acceleration of contactless mobile payments,” said Arredondo. “There is a dynamic synergy between EMV and mobile payments and financial institutions, and I’m very excited to discuss how this will enable continuity and consistency between issuing traditional plastic cards and new mobile payment applications.”
Arredondo has extensive experience in the financial services industry. Since joining Datacard Group in 2009, much of her focus has been on financial instant issuance of payment cards as well as smart cards in the U.S. She is also a member of Smart Card Alliance’s EMV Migration Forum – which was recently created to help support the alignment and implementation steps required for organizations looking to migrate successfully to EMV technology in the United States.
