Securing The Future

AEOS was chosen as Delhaize’s new security platform. Of all the systems reviewed, AEOS had the best qualifications with regards to security performance, system expansion and future growth. Delhaize is continually investing in their buildings and locations in Belgium and abroad, so they need a system that will grow with them. That’s where AEOS comes in: its ease of use and flexibility will help Delhaize grow their security over time, reducing system management issues while supporting system expansion, increased system functionality, and offering high security for the increasing numbers of users and locations.

Another important factor for Delhaize’s choice was that this future-proof system should not increase complexity, manpower or training costs, nor should it reduce effective control. AEOS offers an extremely intuitive, user friendly interface, reducing training time. Its centralized system management enables central control of literally all local implementations, wherever AEOS is in use.

Partnership Power

Nedap work with certified Business Partners around the world, offering global implementation expertise and guaranteed support, wherever AEOS is up and running. In Belgium, one of these partners is SAIT Zenitel. SAIT were responsible for auditing the existing Delhaize system and, based on this, they implemented AEOS for access control at Delhaize’s headquarters.

During the implementation, there were many obstacles to be overcome, ranging from hardware issues like undocumented cabling to the number and type of readers. Another issue to be resolved was to work with Delhaize’s strict IT security policies. Here again, SAIT and Nedap’s development team worked together and provided secure, future proof solutions to all these issues, setting the scene for a successful implementation. Delhaize were impressed with the fact that, even if issues arose at 5 pm on a Friday, both SAIT and Nedap would work together to find an immediate solution: this was the commitment they expected from their suppliers.

Start Small, Think Big!

Initially, Delhaize focused on using AEOS to replace their existing system at headquarters and the Belgian warehouses. One of AEOS’ great advantages is that functionality like intrusion detection or IP video management can be integrated and managed on the same security platform.

Delhaize also wants to integrate the existing physical security systems used in its foreign offices into AEOS. Nedap’s open, web-based platform offers Delhaize easy expansion and integration with other systems and security hardware. Above all, Delhaize have seen the partnership power in action in Belgium. They know that they can depend on our global network of Business Partners, wherever they implement AEOS. This flexibility and versatility guarantees that Delhaize will always be able to meet the physical security challenges posed by growth.
