Genetec, the leader in IP security solutions
Genetec and ObjectVideo integration allows users to enjoy benefits of a more unified platform for analytics and video management

ObjectVideo, the leader in intelligent video, and Genetec, the leader in IP security solutions, announced today that Genetec will integrate the ObjectVideo OV Ready™ protocol within its Omnicast video surveillance management solution to interface with ObjectVideo® OnBoard® device partners.

OV Ready 1.1 is scheduled for implementation in Genetec's Omnicast as part of the Omnicast platform fall release. This implementation will further enhance the integration between ObjectVideo and Genetec products. Omnicast is an enterprise-class IP video surveillance solution that provides seamless management of digital video, audio and data across IP network.

"Integrating OV Ready into our Omnicast solution, emphasizes our commitment to an open platform and will leverage the use of video analytics with our technology, allowing it to work seamlessly with ObjectVideo OnBoard partners, such as Pelco," said Michel Chalouhi, Director of Product Management for Genetec.

With Omnicast enabled with OV Ready, users will now benefit from a single interface to both configure and operate an intelligent surveillance system. Through Omnicast applications, customers will be able to do real-time event monitoring and investigation based on intelligent alarm notifications. Analytics configurations that previously required the use of different user interfaces can now be performed with the user-friendly interface of Omnicast's configuration tool.

Based on XML and open web services standards, OV Ready enables seamless interoperability between any ObjectVideo

OnBoard enabled device and any OV Ready-compliant system. With OV Ready, video management systems, physical security information management (PSIM) systems and other third party systems are able to deliver universal compatibility with any ObjectVideo-enabled device to create rules and receive alerts. The result is a network of intelligent ObjectVideo-enabled partners that allow system integrators and end customers to choose components that best meet business objectives, while seamlessly delivering powerful ObjectVideo capabilities.

Genetec was one of the first partners in ObjectVideo's growing OV Ready network of more than 20 companies. ObjectVideo has shown continued success in joint deployments, including Venice Castle and Naples Metro.

"Strong partners like Genetec play a crucial role in ObjectVideo's commitment to further the importance of video analytics in security and business intelligence solutions," said Bob Cutting, VP of Product Management for ObjectVideo. "The implementation of OV Ready with Omnicast will give customers an easy to use, unified platform to manage all their video solutions, including ObjectVideo analytics."
