Hirsch, a recognized leader in IP-based physical security solutions
Rob Zivney, vice president of marketing at Hirsch Electronics to moderate panel of experts at TechSec solutions
Rob Zivney, vice president of marketing at Hirsch Electronics, a leading manufacturer of security management solutions, will moderate a panel of security experts at the upcoming TechSec Solutions conference being held February 23-25, 2009, at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, TX. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, at 4:00 p.m. and is entitled "Where Will Standards Take Us?"

"As an industry, security has moved quickly from a lack of standards to a plethora of standards," said Mr. Zivney. "These standards are not being driven by manufacturers, but by our customers, the end-users, and particularly those with IT backgrounds, that demand standards. Companies that embrace standards as mandates for developing solutions will lead the industry, and those that do not will fall behind."

The panel will offer insight into the emerging standards driving security development and the importance of interoperability and standards as facilitators of logical and physical security convergence. The panelists include: Jonas Andersson, Chairman, Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF), Business Development Director, Axis Communications Rob Hile, VP Business Development, Adesta; President, PSIA; Director, SIA R. Hunter Knight, President, Integrated Command Software Roger Roehr, Manager, Government Vertical, Software House.

Mr. Zivney, recent recipient of the Security Industry Association's (SIA) Statesman Award, has spent more than 30-years in security and building controls with expertise in access control and intelligent building systems. He is active in standards activities with SIA, ASHRAE/BACnet and OASIS/oBIX, and he serves on SIA's Board of Directors Executive Committee as Treasurer. Mr. Zivney recently testified before the U.S. Congress regarding the progress of implementation of Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).
