As physical and information security converge, PCSC understands the broad range of IT Infrastructure requirements. That’s why they'll now offer a rack mountable version of the Fault Tolerant controller. The versatility and possibilities are truly endless for integrating a PCSC Fault Tolerant controller within a new or existing rack mount environment. IT friendly, it is available with standard 19 inch rack rails, allowing for secure applications within locked and/or ventilated cabinets. Access and maintenance to the FT controller by IT and security professionals becomes an easy task as the unit is treated like any other piece of hardware among the server array. Optional dual vacuum fluorescent displays allow for quick status indication and higher visibility when placed within glass doored cabinets. Front side RJ-45 jacks allow for easy connections. Pair a Fault Tolerant access control system with a Fault Tolerant PC server for a truly reliable system.

Introduced earlier this year, PCSC's next generation of access controllers is revolutionary. The Fault Tolerant System offers the security industry's first high availability access control system with redundant host, controllers, and communication. The peer-to-peer network of master controllers and door interface modules provides for a level of reliability which is required for today’s security environment but has, until now, been unavailable. The FT architecture provides full security during primary communications failure or hardware failure. An automatic self-healing process, “Real-time Dynamic Network Architecture” or RDNA. During a “failure”, the system will automatically reconfigure its network and continue to process access decisions, alarm and other transactional information to and from the host system, LiNC-NE.

"We're excited to offer this product in an almost plug-n-play configuration, allowing for the 'IT guy' to place within an available slot on the rack. End-user security professionals will have peace of mind knowing their equipment is among the physical network of other servers and being looked after by those overseeing the server room, rather than stuffed into a small, hot and often crowded control panel closet", said Brian Lyle, PCSC’s Director of Domestic Sales. PCSC continues to develop features and improvements upon the FT platform as hardware and software production progress. PCSC will showcase the rack mount FT controller at it's booth during the ASIS 2007 Annual Seminar and Exhibits in September, with live product demonstrations by appointment only.
