Allient Inc., recognized globally for its specialty products in Motion, Controls, and Power, has announced the participation of Steve Warzala, their President of Defense, Chief Growth Officer, and Corporate Vice President, in an upcoming seminar at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Warzala will be representing the firm at the Golisano Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Initiative (GIDDI) seminar, titled "Adaptive Sports and Recreation Activities: Lessons Learned."
The seminar is scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2025, and will run from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at FGCU's Sugden Hall (SRHM), Room 111, located in Fort Myers, Florida.
Empowering Individuals with Disabilities
In collaboration with Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports (GBAS), a nonprofit organization, the seminar will focus on providing adaptive sports and recreation opportunities for individuals with various disabilities. Attendees will gain insights into developing and maintaining effective adaptive sports programs, with a specific emphasis on empowering the disabled community in Southwest Florida through these initiatives.

Empowering individuals with disabilities
The seminar, held in partnership with Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports (GBAS), a nonprofit organization providing adaptive sports opportunities to individuals with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities, will provide guidance on starting and maintaining successful adaptive sports and recreation programs.
Participants will learn key steps, from initial planning to long-term sustainability, designed to help communities in Southwest Florida empower individuals with disabilities through sports.
