Solaris Speed From Siemens

Product Profile

From city centres and airports to retail environments, commercial buildings and even motorways, Solaris is providing security images, both internal and external, with exceptional accuracy and reliability.

Central to the range is the new Solaris CCDS1415-DNX, a high speed dome which features a day-night camera with 26x optical zoom coupled with high sensitivity to extremely low light conditions - the perfect combination for monitoring of wide-area scenes yet still detecting even the smallest of details.  The infrared cut filter provides crisp colour images during the day and infrared sensitive monochrome images in the dark.

Ease of installation is a prime focus in the design of the Solaris. Straightforward installation and maintenance is ensured through a split construction of the camera head unit (HU) and the external termination unit (XTU).  An LCD-based display at the XTU provides the means to configure the dome's many features including menu-guided addressing, protocol selection, settings for inspection and testing, presets, diagnostics and even checking of the video image and signal quality, thereby removing the need for a portable monitor.   The camera top bracket easily converts to side or top mount. Plus, Solaris features a convenient on-screen display (OSD) menu that allows easy changing of the dome's parameters such as exposure, automatic gain control or white balance, as well as configuring functions such as sectors or patterns.

There is no need to open the factory sealed Solaris dome, with the weatherproof and tamperproof housing of the XTU protecting the power supply along with all terminals for video, telemetry data, alarm and supply cables.   An external RJ45 connection, with a pre-fitted 10m CAT 5 cable included, simply links the dome head unit with the XTU - with just one cable for power, video and telemetry.  Once installed, there is no further need of a ladder, scaffolding or platforms since all programming is done directly from the XTU at a distance of up to 30 metres (e.g. in a control room or at the base of a camera pole).  This distance can be extended to up to 300 m using the optional local power supply.

The range offers either a 26x or 18x optical zoom lens, both of which deliver excellent performance even under extremely low light conditions.  Tracking of a moving target passing beneath the dome is available through an auto-flip function.  Should the need arise to replace the camera head due to deliberate or accidental damage, this can be easily done, without the need to manually reprogram all settings - configuration settings from the camera head can be backed-up and stored within the XTU.

Up to eight from 24 programmable privacy zones can be displayed on screen simultaneously and Solaris also offers enhanced pattern recording, with up to four programmable patterns and 99 presets supported.  The capacity to define zone names makes it much easier to recognize which camera or zone is being displayed.

A large variety of accessories allows flexible installation to fit every environment, including corner, wall, pendant, swan neck or flush mounting options.
