Oculeus AFS improves the telecoms fraud prevention rules of telecommunications service providers

The Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the communications industry and honors exceptional products that improve voice, data and video communications services.

Oculeus AFS improves the telecoms fraud prevention practices of telecommunications service providers and network operators by creating an automated framework to rapidly identify and block threats of telecoms fraud, including PBX-hacking and toll fraud, SIP-account hijacking, Wangiri and trap calls, SIM-boxing and much more.

Range of technical analytics

Oculeus AFS leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) together with anomaly detection and automated processes to analyze massive volumes of telecommunications activity in order to detect and stop fraudulent traffic in near-real-time before significant revenue is lost.

The system also allows an unlimited number of scenarios to be analyzed for instances of fraud and deploys a wide range of technical analytics that focus on numbers, traffic behavior and commercial data.

Oculeus AFS provides a flexible network integration of the telecoms fraud actions and controls that are output by the solution.

This approach allows service provider and network operator customers with the option to begin with a light version of the system based on alerts only and then progressively adding deeper integrations, including automated traffic and call blocking.

Future of communications

"Our Communications Solutions Products of the Year Award sets the standard for excellence in our industry," said Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMCNet.

He adds, "Winning this award is more than an achievement — it’s a declaration that Oculeus is driving the future of communications and transforming how telecommunications service providers and their customers communicate every day."

New customers and partnerships

Oculeus AFS is currently used by around 40 service providers, network operators and other providers of voice and messaging services worldwide. Oculeus AFS also serves as the underlining technology powering third-party telecoms fraud prevention services.

"2025 has been an outstanding year for Oculeus," said Arnd Baranowski, CEO of Oculeus, adding "This award recognition for our Oculeus AFS offering along a number of significant new customers and partnerships that we have added this year are positioning the company for continued strong growth."
