Smart Card Alliance Government Conference will focus this year on trends in strong authentication technology for government identity programs

Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalisation solutions, recently announced that Joshua Jabs, vice president of global government marketing for Datacard Group, will be speaking at the 2013 Smart Card Alliance Government Conference: Smart Strategies for Secure Identity, taking place Oct. 15-16, 2013 in Washington, D.C.

In its 12th year, the annual Smart Card Alliance Government Conference will focus this year on trends in strong authentication technology for government identity programs, including Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials, developments in National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC), trusted ID on the Internet and on mobile devices, developments in state and local ID, and evolving global standards.

Jabs will be presenting on “Electronic Benefits Programs” scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16th at 10:45 a.m. As part of the track on National & International Use Cases - Government To Citizen Credentialing Programs, the presentation will cover trends and highlight case studies on how governments are leveraging investments in more robust citizen identification services, payment technology and partnerships with the financial sector to streamline the benefits distribution process, improve service and reduce fraud.

“Given changing demographics in developed countries and the increasing economic wealth of emerging countries, distribution of government benefits remains a large task for government’s worldwide,” said Jabs. “We are pleased to present to this established forum of government leaders and to discuss what other governments have accomplished and learned in effectively serving their citizens through electronic benefits programs.”
