The University of Bedfordshire is using two Mobotix cameras installed by Lynx Networks to record the progress of the extensive redevelopment project at its Luton Campus. Time-lapse photography, taken automatically over 18 months, will allow the University to show a film of the demolition and construction of the new Student Center and Student accommodation.

The Mobotix IP cameras were chosen because they are designed to work in tough outdoor conditions without the need for moving parts or heaters, and, as they operate using power over Ethernet, they only require a network connection at the camera unit.

John Wells of The University of Bedfordshire said: "We have worked with Lynx to provide the University's voice and data cabling infrastructure for many years. The University is investing £74m in redeveloping the Luton campus, including a new student center and halls of residence. We wanted to communicate the progress of this project the staff and students. Webcams provide a highly effective way of doing this. Lynx's webcam offering has been implemented at very short notice and went very smoothly. Keith Swan was extremely helpful, especially in the adverse weather conditions we were experiencing at the time. We're very happy with the work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lynx to others requiring a similar service."
