BSIA’s Scottish exporting seminar will include presentations to cover a range of topics to help would-be exporters plan their first foray into new markets
BSIA organized the event with the support of Scottish Enterprise to help businesses expand into overseas markets

An impressive speaker line-up has been announced for next week’s Wise Up to Exporting workshop, a free event aimed at helping Scottish businesses make the most of an increasingly global marketplace by reaching out to overseas clients.

Taking place at 2:30pm on Tuesday 26th November at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, the event has been organized by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) with the support of Scottish Enterprise, and will help businesses take their first steps towards expanding into overseas markets, with presentations set to cover a range of topics to help would-be exporters plan their first foray into new markets.

Speakers Announced Include:

  • Claire Gamage, Solicitor at Harrison Clark Rickerby’s Limited, who will discuss the top ten legal considerations for exporters
  • Ewan Ramsey of Upper Quartile Limited, who will inform attendees of the financial assistance and funding available for companies new to exporting
  • Bill McMillan of Scottish Development International, who will discuss the international export support offered by the organization, which has helped more than 2000 Scottish businesses to develop their international business in the last year
  • Donald Rankin from HSBC, who will discuss the potential revenue stream that companies can develop through exporting, in addition to ways in which companies can finance their export activity

This free session will include a networking opportunity as well as a questions and answers session, enabling attendees to gain direct and personal benefit from the speakers’ expertise. The event is open to businesses of all industry sectors.

Daren Wood, Membership and Export Services Manager at the BSIA, comments: “Supporting more small and medium sized businesses to export is crucial to the Government’s plan to rebalance our economy, create jobs and boost prosperity. British products and services have an enviable reputation across the globe and there has never been a better time to grasp the international trade opportunities out there.”
