Bosch Security System staff complete charity walk
The charity walk's theme was a 'monopoly' route that covered various locations equipped with Bosch security equipment
Staff at Bosch Security Systems completed a 20 mile sponsored walk around London on Saturday 11th June in support of Children In Need. The theme of the charity walk was a ‘monopoly' route that visited various locations around the city of London at which Bosch security equipment is installed, including four of the main train stations. It was estimated that the walk would take approximately seven hours to complete, but the team from Bosch finished in an impressive six hours and 15 minutes.

The walk was planned in honor of a double anniversary that Bosch recognises this year, marking 125 years since it was established and 150 years since the birth of Robert Bosch, the pioneering and philanthropic founder of the company. To celebrate these milestones, in the generous spirit of their founder, nine Bosch sites across the UK are working both individually and together on a variety of fundraising activities, including cake sales, raffles and family experience days, with the aim of collectively raising £125,000.

25 members of staff from Bosch participated in the sponsored walk, walking at an average speed of 3.2 mph over the course of the day and led by Paul Wong, Managing Director of Bosch Security Systems in the UK. The route took in London landmarks and tourist hotspots such as the Olympic Stadium, Canary Wharf, the O2 Dome, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Waterloo Station, the Imperial War Museum, the Houses of Parliament, Charing Cross Station, and finished up at St James Park where the weary team were rewarded with a rooftop barbecue for their efforts.

Paul praised the charity walk as a real success: "In addition to generating much-needed funds for a very worthy cause, this event was also a fitting demonstration of the hard work, generosity and team spirit exemplified by staff at Bosch and a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding way to celebrate the company's dual anniversaries. Our thanks go to both organisers and participants for their brilliant efforts." Children In Need, the BBC's corporate charity, has been selected as the beneficiary of all monies raised because of their mission to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK.
