The "Crafting a Local PR Strategy" webinar will highlight a range of best practices for effective local PR strategy

Linear LLC, the leader in residential and commercial access control, emergency response and security solutions, announces its third interactive webinar in the company’s dealer-focused lineup of online training and continuing education. The webinar, "Crafting a Local PR Strategy", will take place on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 at 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PST and will highlight a range of best practices useful for designing an effective local public relations strategy.

The Linear webinar will cover: tips for finding and contacting the local media, how best to participate in and promote timely events and charitable activities, advice for crafting press releases on new hires and promotions, and more. The local PR training course aims to support business development for dealers and distributors while providing a convenient, free resource for learning about emerging public relations, social media and branding trends. The session will run approximately 45 minutes with an additional 15 minutes open for questions and commentary.

“Based on the positive feedback and increasing attendance of our last two webinars, we’ve pushed ourselves to develop additional content that educates dealers on connecting and building relationships with their local media,” said Duane Paulson, Senior Vice President of Product and Market Development at Linear, LLC. “Cultivating relationships with local and industry media is important when sharing news and promoting events, but also bolsters prominence in becoming the go-to security resource within their community. By communicating the importance of and sharing strategies for working with the local media, we’re providing our dealer network with a tool to help them effectively grow their business.”

Additionally, the presentation will provide insight and advice from key trade media. Ever wonder what appeals to you favorite editors? Now’s your chance to find out – webinar attendees will get an understanding of what security magazine editors are looking for when it comes to pitches, editorial content and more.

Attendees can also expect to walk away with a variety of key takeaways and a clearer understanding of:

  • How to identify and build a targeted, local media list
  • Press release-worthy topics and guidelines for crafting media alerts
  • The benefits of partaking in and promoting community events and charitable activities
  • Tips for building local partnerships with complementary businesses and valuable relationships with key media

The first live session of the “Crafting a Local PR Strategy” training webinar for Linear dealers will be held on December 5th, 2012 at 1PM EST / 10AM PST. The session will also be recorded ensuring that dealers who are unable to attend live can still reap the benefits, when it is most convenient to their schedules.
