Wavestore's Network Video Recorders (NVRs) are increasing attracting the interest of installers and systems integrators throughout the world because of their ability to support projects involving large numbers of cameras. A key reason why they are able to do so is because of the efficient design of the Wavestore software embedded on the Linux platform. This facilitates the rapid processing of multiple video streams, while supporting data rates up to 1.8 Gigabits per second.

Compared to a typical Windows based design that supports just 300 - 500 Megabits per second, Wavestore's well developed and ultra-reliable design can significantly reduce the number of individual NVRs required to meet the requirements of a project.

Wavestore's recording solutions are designed to seamlessly record original video formats, including H.264, MPEG-4, JPEG2000 and MxPEG, regardless of whether the system design has a combination of SD (720P), HD (1080P) or even 20 megapixel cameras. They can also be configured to record audio and metadata as well as video, with audio/video lip synchronization assured by the data handling design.

Furthermore, the high data recording rates sustained do not impact upon the speed of the display of live or archived video streams. In fact, recorded video data can be replayed instantly from any point in time, even when the storage system is very large with Petabytes of data archived over many months.

Wavestore Version 6

The PetaBlok range of servers was created to address the increasing demand for big data storage solutions. Wavestore Version 6 will deliver enhancements to these established capabilities, including dynamic power savings which are achieved by spinning down hard drives that are not actively engaged in the read or write process. V6 will also provide intelligent RAID storage which can support both NVR and big data systems, either with or without hardware RAID control, plus, many other new innovative features designed to enhance the operator experience.
