Tyco Security Products, part of Johnson Controls, introduces the latest release of the exacqVision VMS (8.4) which adds critical cybersecurity features demanded by IT departments while enhancing the user experience.

exacqVision VMS 8.4

exacqVision now supports HTTPS communication between the NVR and some of the industry’s leading cameras, adding a new layer of protection to security deployments. Users can also easily acquire and configure security certificates used by exacqVision Web Services for HTTPS communication, ensuring all communication to web browsers and Exacq Mobile is encrypted.

This latest release further strengthens Exacq Mobile by supporting the use of the microphone on smart devices

This latest release further strengthens Exacq Mobile by supporting the use of the microphone on smart devices. The flexibility of audio support allows security operators to conduct both digital and physical patrols to better manage entrances where two-way audio exists without having to be at their workstations. In addition, new integrations with Bentel and Bosch intrusion systems allow users to arm and disarm the alarm system from the exacqVision Client or Exacq Mobile, and receive notifications with associated video of events directly in Exacq Mobile.

HTTPS To Deploy Web-based Solutions

“We recognize the importance of protecting business infrastructure against cyber-attacks, and that certainly includes customers’ security and surveillance systems,” said Ryan Hulse, Senior Product Manager, Tyco Security Products. “Using HTTPS whenever deploying web-based solutions is an essential part of that protection, and exacqVision 8.4 makes that much easier. Using the free and open Let’s Encrypt certificate authority allows the entire process to be automated.”

Already known for its intuitive user experience, exacqVision now features a low contrast GUI designed to address the direct link between interface ergonomics and operator fatigue. Combined with other powerful features such as PTZ support for Suspect Tracking and configurable Event Thresholds, this release raises the bar for system protection, video performance and intuitive user experience.
