HID technology and products are supporting every industry sector from hospitals to e-government
HID hosts first high-level briefing meeting at Queen's College Cambridge
HID hosted a lunch briefing in the magnificient surroundings of Queen's College, Cambridge.  It provided a memorable setting for the event that was the first high-level briefing meeting that HID has organized specifically for the EMEA region.  It offered an ideal opportunity to meet and chat to customers, partners and members of the press.  Over 50 guests attended the lunch in the Dining Hall and heard guest speaker David Bodanis, author of E=Mc2 and Electric Universe, set the scene for the afternoon's presentation with a wide ranging discussion on future technologies, focusing attention on the possibilities and potential of changing technologies in both our professional and personal lives.

After a delicious lunch guest were invited on a VIP tour of the HID new facility at nearby Haverhill where Paul Naldrett outlined his plans for the strategic development of the EMEA region.  In addition to news on recent acquisitions to strengthen the company's portfolio and details on how HID technology and products such as SmartID, and OMNIKEY are supporting every industry sector from hospitals to e-government, commerce to education, one of the most significant issues under discussion was the pioneering role that HID is taking in the convergence of physical and logical access systems.

Mr Naldrett confirmed that:  "Migration into the logical access space is one of the most exciting opportunities for HID and is a significant growth area for us in terms of performance in the market and the value we can offer to our customers".  During the afternoon the announcement that new Dell Latitude laptops will now be embedded with an HID iClass reader, provided a clear example of convergence at work.  Not only does the technology prevent unauthorized access to the laptop and data, it also enables organizations to use a single HID iCLASS card for both physical building access and secure authentication to PCs.

This was first in a series of regular events which are planned for the region in a move to localise sales, support and customer service across the entire EMEA region.

HID will be showcasing it's latest security products at Cartes, 4-6 November.

Understand how converged physical and cybersecurity systems can scale protection.
