Samsung has introduced the SND-5080, a megapixel HD network dome camera which allow users to gain maximum benefit from the very latest megapixel camera technology. The SND-5080, which is packed full with advanced features such as Intelligent Video Analytics, incorporates Samsung's WiseNet1 DSP chipset, which has been specially designed for megapixel HD network domes and cameras. The H.264, MPEG4, MJPEG and JPEG compression methods incorporated into the WiseNet1 DSP, provides users with the ability to simultaneously transmit images to multiple locations at various frame rates and at different resolutions including 1.3megapixel (1280 x 1024), 16:9 HD (1280 x 720), QVGA (320 x 240), SVGA (800x 600) and VGA (640 x 480). With such a wide range of compression methods and resolutions to choose from, a number of different users, if authorized, will be able to simultaneously monitor live images at one location, record video evidence at another or view live and recorded images on a Smartphone. At the same time JPEG images of an incident can be attached to an alarm email notification with the additional facility of storing pre and post-alarm images on a camera's internal SD memory card. The ONVIF compliant SND -5080 1.3 megapixel HD network dome camera has an Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) capability which includes optical tripwire and enter/exit direction detection as well as Appear/Disappear function to detect the movement of objects. IVA also has a scene change tampering function which creates an alert if, for example, paint is sprayed on a camera lens or there is an unauthorized movement of a camera away from its usual field of view. Other key features include: The latest CMOS image sensor that achieves clearer images than a normal megapixel CCD, especially under low light conditions. Progressive scan which provides a much higher quality of video capture - especially of moving objects. The well defined horizontal lines makes it possible, for example, to read car number plates on moving vehicles without the motion blur effect.  The option of utilising Samsung's license free NET-I viewer or SVM-S1 Centralised Management Software (CMS) centralised network management which provides out-of-the-box network capability for all connected Samsung products. 1280 x 1024 resolution. 16: 9 HD (720p) resolution support. Samsung has added two new ONVIF compliant encoders to its fast growing iPOLiS portfolio of network friendly products. The four channel SPE-400 and sixteen channel rack-mounted SPE-1600R, which houses up to 4x SPE-400B four channel encoder blades, join the SPE-100 single channel encoder in providing a cost effective and easy to implement method of adding analog cameras to an IP/network based video surveillance system. All three encoders enable images captured by an analog camera to be transmitted in real-time across a network at 4-CIF resolution. A multi-streaming feature provides the option of utilising H.264, MPEG-4 or MJPEG compression to minimize bandwidth consumption by simultaneously transmitting images at various frame rates and resolutions to different locations on a network. "Our encoder series provide a very installer friendly method of converting an analog CCTV system into a network based surveillance solution," said John Fisk, European IP Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Limited. "Our design engineers have used their knowledge of IP and network technology to include features, which can bring operational and cost saving benefits to customers. For example, of particular importance to customers who want to add analog speed domes onto a network, is that all three encoders support both the Samsung and Pelco D/P telemetry protocols." In the event of an alarm, the encoders can be programmed to trigger a dome to move to a preset position and, in the case of the SPE-100 and SPE-400, images relating to the alarm can be recorded onto an SD card and an e-mail notification sent. Samsung's NET-I Viewer software, which is supplied free of charge, provides customers with an easy to use graphical user interface. The SPE-100 has an additional feature in the form of a video loop through which allows captured images to be shared with other devices, such as a display monitor or locally based DVR, prior to being encoded for transmission over a network. The SPE-100 and SPE-400 offer bi-directional audio, allowing interactive communication between a camera's location and a control room, whilst both models also allow authorized users to gain access to live images, or images recorded onto a memory card inserted in the encoders' SD slots, via a web browser. Available from Samsung distributors, the three models in the Samsung encoder series are offered with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd., including free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty.

Samsung has launched a new single channel encoder which provides a cost-effective and easy to implement method of adding analog cameras to an IP/network based surveillance system. The SPE-100 encoder enables images captured by an analog camera to be transmitted in real-time across a network at 4CIF resolution. A multi-streaming feature provides the option of utilising H.264, MPEG-4 or MJPEG compression to minimize bandwidth consumption by simultaneously transmitting images at various frame rates and resolutions to different locations on a network. "The SPE-100 has been designed for customers who wish to exploit the benefits of transmitting video over IP, whilst at the same time taking advantage of their existing analog cameras and domes," said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. "Significantly, the SPE-100 supports both Samsung and Pelco D/P telemetry protocols.
