A key driver behind this development is The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, also known as Martyn’s Law, which received Royal Assent on 3 April, 2025.
Although enacted, the legislation is not yet in force. The act would mandate the qualifying organizations to assess and mitigate terrorism risks in a proportionate and systematic manner and implement protective measures.
The Home Office will issue the statutory guidance to help duty holders understand and prepare for the forthcoming requirements. Early planning and preparation during this transitional period will be essential to ensure readiness and compliance once the Act comes into effect.
