Bosch Launches New Generation DVR With Remote Possibilities
Bosch Launches New Generation DVR With Remote Possibilities

Bosch Security Systems has launched the Divar MR, a new generation CCTV management technology that combines the very highest quality digital video recording with an ability to view and control cameras, handle alarms and monitor device status all through a common interface.Suited to a wide range of retail, education and leisure applications, at its core the Divar MR provides simultaneous, real-time recording on up to 16 channels to the pixel resolution standard for video known as CIF (Common Intermediate Format).  When even higher resolution is needed, 4CIF (i.e. four times CIF resolution) is also an option.  The recorder uses MPEG-4 compression technology to significantly reduce bandwidth and increase its storage capability, whilst reducing the overall storage costs."Divar MR has a number of clever features that add to its convenience," explains Adam Breeze, Strategic Marketing Manager.  "For example, it allows users to view a number of live images and play back a scene simultaneously so that they can compare past and present events.  They can capture an event at the press of a button on the unit's front panel, and receive an email when an event occurs.  There is even a ‘smart search' feature that helps users find recorded images quickly and efficiently simply by looking for changes in a selected area."The new system can be controlled either locally or remotely via the intuitive Divar MR Control Centre.  The Control Centre enables live viewing and playback, configuration and remote alarm notification.  All operations and controls can be centralised, and for further convenience, live images can also be viewed through Internet Explorer allowing users to keep in touch with their security from virtually anywhere in the world.Other features include an overwrite protection capability to ensure the integrity of all recordings, and an ability to export such recordings to CD or DVD as well as USB devices as required.  An archive player is included in the external media for fast access to exported recordings, and includes an image authentication feature for images required as evidence in court. Both eight and 16-channel versions of Divar MR are standard, and a variety of control and input options are available including mouse, CCTV keyboard, front panel (which includes a jog dial for even faster access) and IR remote control.  The unit is compatible with all other Bosch CCTV technology as well as third-party domes and PTZ cameras.

Bosch AutoDome Series For A New Generation Of Thinking
Bosch AutoDome Series For A New Generation Of Thinking

Bosch Security Systems' AutoDome modular camera system is a series of IP-enabled dome cameras comprising intelligent, interchangeable modules that enable installers to update camera functionality quickly and cost-effectively, whilst allowing end-users to migrate to more advanced technologies in the future without having the associated costs of replacing the entire dome. The AutoDome range is based on five interchangeable modules: the CPU (determining fixed or PTZ capability as well as advanced functions eg. privacy masking, motion detection and tracking); camera (including choices of whether fixed/PTZ, colour or day/night, and zoom range); housing (for indoor and outdoor applications); communications (to determine how video/data will be communicated to the matrix switch, DVR or IP video system); and power supply (to meet site-specific installation requirements). The flexibility is such that a ‘core' product can be upgraded or adapted as needs change, for example from analog to IP, colour to day/night, or to include advanced features such as motion detection. The design is such that cameras can be moved between different housings when special coverage is needed, or as site plan requirements change, quickly and safely and without removing the power."Migrating from a basic dome with a fixed camera to a high-speed PTZ with advanced features such as AutoTrack II intelligent tracking can be done quickly and easily, without requiring dome removal or rewiring," explains Paul Wong, Managing Director of Bosch Security Systems. "Similarly, AutoDome's Ethernet communications module allows installers to add IP functionality while maintaining connectivity to existing analog inputs and outputs."AutoDome camera modules are available with state-of-the-art technologies that are designed to deliver optimum image clarity, camera control and sensitivity to meet the most demanding of environments. With horizontal resolution of up to 540 TVL, the cameras generate more TV lines than conventional CCTV systems, resulting in sharper images for more accurate identification. All products within the range have hybrid connectivity, allowing the simultaneous support of IP (MPEG-4) and analog (coax) formats. "Total cost of ownership is a major issue facing businesses, and AutoDome has been designed with this in mind. A business that opts for analog technology today is protected if it decides to migrate towards IP technology tomorrow. Using AutoDome means a business can upgrade to IP at its own speed - all at once or one camera at a time - without being forced to choose one technology over another form the outset, and without compromising on performance.""Investment is also protected because AutoDome easily integrates with the entire range of Bosch surveillance products including Allegiant matrix switchers, DiBos and Divar digital recorders, and the VIDOS IP-based video management system."The AutoDome series supports a variety of standard and optional video and data transmission methods including Bilinx (over coax and UTP), fibre, and even TCP/IP over Ethernet. Remote control, configuration, and firmware updates can also be performed using the same connectivity."What is perhaps most unique about the new AutoDome series is not just its performance capabilities but as much the thought that has gone into the product in terms of its ‘physical' design," Paul continues. "The new compact housing is now 15% smaller than the previous generation of products, and all tethers have now been replaced by hinges, making them much easier and safer to install, especially when the need to work safely at height is paramount." "The hinged arm provides access to the power supply without having to take the whole dome down, and a built-in surge suppression technology protects all power, data and video inputs. Being easy to ‘access', means time spent on routine maintenance can be dramatically reduced, and if a part does need upgrading or replacing, a new one can simply be inserted without having to take the whole dome apart."The AutoDome series is the culmination of 10 years research and development, and has been subjected to the most comprehensive and rigorous endurance and performance tests. All enclosures are IP66/NEMA 4X rated, impervious to dust and protected from strong jets of water. The protection of a rugged, polycarbonate bubble, recessed set screws and recessed bubble latch are standard on all housings.
