NICE Systems recently announced its partnership with AMAG Technology, a G4S subsidiary, for the integration of its NICE Situator PSIM and situation management solution with AMAG Technology’s Symmetry™ Access Control system. The joint solution can be used by command and control centers worldwide to improve situational awareness and streamline incident management. The integration enables bi-directional communication between Symmetry and Situator. This means Situator can receive real-time Symmetry access control alerts and display these events along with access records and images of permitted personnel. Situator’s ability to pull in data from a wide range of security systems means that Symmetry access control information can also be correlated with information from other sensors for accurate alerting. Once an alert is received, Situator’s automated processes guide operators through response plans to improve management efficiency and minimize risk. Several utilities companies and ports are already using the integrated solution for day-to-day security operations, allowing them to more easily identify access breaches and to improve collaboration between relevant parties. Shae Taylor, Symmetry Extended Business Solutions Program Manager, AMAG Technology, “We are thrilled to certify NICE as a partner in our Symmetry Extended Business Solutions Program. The designation certifies that Quantum Secure’s SAFE Software Suite Version 4.8 integrates with AMAG’s Symmetry v7.0.1 access control software. “By completing the AMAG required factory testing, Quantum Secure validated the functionality of the integration between the SAFE physical identity solution and AMAG’s access control solution,” said AMAG Technology, Symmetry Extended Business Solutions Program Manager, Shae Taylor. “We are pleased to welcome them to the program.” The certification ensures that all types of physical identities, including employees, visitors, vendors and contractors, get provisioned into the Symmetry access control system based on the predefined rules and policies set within SAFE. The SAFE agents listen for data updates and changes in near-real time from an authoritative data source, such as a human resources management system or an integrated database management system. Based on work flows, the SAFE agents broadcast these changes to the Symmetry access control system. Integrated functionalities and features include bidirectional cardholder synchronization; bidirectional access code adds and deletes; automatic active/inactive cardholder updates; and simple, intuitive configuration and user experience. “As organizations continue to build upon their physical security strategies, they’ll find that our ability to integrate with AMAG’s Symmetry access control software provides them a comprehensive set of tools for enhancing security operations,” said Vik Ghai, chief technology officer, Quantum Secure. “Data exchange is seamless and automated processes maintain accuracy while helping to keep costs lower.”
The integration between the two systems enables a faster and efficient response With the certification of its latest incident management connector, PPM is now a member of AMAG Technology’s Symmetry™ Extended Business Solutions (EBS) Program. AMAG Technology and PPM cooperatively tested and certified the integration between PPM’s Perspective v4.0 incident management software and AMAG’s Symmetry v7.0.1 access control software. “We are happy to welcome PPM to AMAG Technology’s EBS Program and are thrilled to offer customers an integrated solution for responding, reporting, and investigating incidents,” said AMAG Technology, Symmetry Extended Business Solutions Program Manager, Shae Taylor. Perspective’s AMAG Symmetry Connector is an off-the-shelf, purpose-built solution that routes activity data from the Symmetry access control system directly into Perspective for action, documentation, and metrics. The integration between the two systems enables faster, more efficient response and eliminates manual data entry errors. The connector analyses the data using established rules and automatically initiates a dispatch when an actionable alarm or event occurs. For events that do not require a dispatch but must still be documented, Perspective instantly logs the data in a new record for statistical analysis and follow-up. “Integrating access control with incident management enables faster response and better analysis and reporting with fewer errors,” said Brian McIlravey, CPP, Co-Chief Executive Officer of PPM. “Users of both Perspective and Symmetry will benefit from consolidating all aspects of their incident management into a single process that eliminates redundancies and delivers a complete end-to-end management system. We are proud to be an AMAG Certified Partner and look forward to sharing our integration with mutual clients.”

"The integration between the AlertEnterprise software and the Symmetry access control system offers end users physical security and IT policy protection together" Version 4.0 of the AlertEnterprise software and Symmetry Access Control system provides many benefits for the end user: Reconciliation of access rights and card holders: Reconciliation involves fetching the existing access rights and the card holder information from the Symmetry access control system and creating corresponding identities and roles in Alert Application. These identities and roles can be used in the future to modify the user/card/access rights in the Symmetry system from Alert enterprise. Create new cardholder and assign a badge: HR can request a badge for a new hire and once approved, the user provisioning happens across various systems like LDAP, Exchange, Symmetry (PACS) etc. and a new badge is assigned to the employee in Symmetry. Add/ Modify access rights: Various access rights can be assigned/removed from card holders at any time from the Alert application, and changes are reflected immediately in Symmetry. Activate/Deactivate badge: The existing card holder can be deactivated /activated at any point of time from Alert application, and changes are reflected immediately within Symmetry. Employee termination: When an employee gets terminated, his access needs to be removed in all the systems including PACS. A Termination request is submitted in the Alert application, proceeds through the approval process and the badge gets deactivated and access rights revoked.
Traka, the key management specialist, can now integrate its systems with the Symmetry™ access control system from AMAG Technology. As a Certified Partner, the Traka32 software integrates with AMAG’s Symmetry v7.0.1 access control software. AMAG and Traka cooperatively tested and certified this integration. The integration allows the functionality of the Traka32 software to be managed through Symmetry. The access control platform can now include key management along with its existing identity management, alarm management, video management and command and control functionality. Symmetry can be scaled up or down depending on the size of the business. Used by 30,000 organizations in 90 countries, Symmetry is an open security software that meets all typical IP networking and integration requirements. Traka32’s curfew functionality ensures keys are checked out or returned in specific, defined time increments and fault logging can show a problem that occurred during an asset’s use and ensures that faulty items are automatically locked-in until fixed. Through Symmetry, it can also create a closed-loop system which means that if a key, particularly one that is sensitive to the security of the facility, is not returned it can prompt an alarm that allows the central administrator to automatically restrict access permissions. This means that individuals can be restricted from leaving the building if they have not returned a key. Shae Taylor, Extended Business Solutions Program Manager for AMAG Technology said, “The integration between Traka key and asset management solutions and AMAG’s Symmetry access control solutions means that we can offer a more holistic solution. Physical assets and keys are often the weak link in a facility’s security process, as they often rely on creating manual records, leaving room for human error. Traka is a sophisticated solution that can tie key and asset management automatically into a wider, comprehensive access control system, like Symmetry.”
