Johnson Controls, the global provider for smart and sustainable buildings, has added four new models to its Tyco Illustra Essentials IP camera range. The new fourth generation Essentials mini-dome, varifocal mini-dome, bullet, and varifocal bullet cameras, which supersede their respective older models, are all equipped with built-in adaptive IR illumination which enables them to capture up to two megapixel HD resolution images of objects in total darkness up to a distance of 30m (98ft). The NDAA compliant, IP67 rated cameras provide protection against everyday elements such as dust and water and offer enhanced H.265 video compression. To aid ease of setup all Essentials Gen4 models support one-touch auto-focus and the varifocal models provide motorized zoom. Quality and simplicity These keenly priced Essential cameras provide a cost-effective option for applications of any size" “These keenly priced Essential cameras provide a cost-effective option for applications of any size, but they are particularly ideal for budget conscious end-users who have a requirement for a large number of cameras,” said Ric Wilton, director of product management for Illustra. “As you would expect from Tyco Illustra, we have not compromised on the build quality of these new models and although they are offered at a low price point, they are packed with much more than just the bare essential features needed to capture high quality images of any event, incident or suspicious activity.” Key features The four new cameras have true day/night functionality with a removable infrared cut filter (ICR), which enables them to operate effectively in low light conditions. They are also able to take advantage of ‘pixel by pixel’ Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology to deliver clear images captured from scenes which might contain bright and dark areas, such as the entrances to retail stores. Support for H.264 and H.265 compression formats allows up to three simultaneous video streams to be efficiently transmitted at up to thirty frames per second, while a corridor mode provides an efficient and effective method of monitoring narrow areas, such as hallways, shopping aisles and tunnels, and results in lower bandwidth and storage requirements. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support Recorded video can be retrieved from an SDXC card when the connection is restored Other key features include Power over Ethernet (PoE) support which avoids the need to provide separate power supplies and cabling for each camera. A micro SDXC memory slot allows up to 256GB video or data to be stored at the edge if there is a loss of connection to the network. Recorded video can be retrieved from an SDXC card when the connection is restored. Additions to the Essentials camera range The four new additions to the Essentials camera range are as follows: Essentials IP Mini-Dome with 2.8mm fixed lens. IK10 vandal resistant and IP67 level protection against dust and water Essentials Varifocal IP Mini-Dome with 2.7-13.5mm varifocal lens. IK10 and IP67. Essentials IP Bullet camera with 2.8mm fixed lens. IP67 Essentials Varifocal IP Bullet camera with 2.7-13.5mm varifocal lens. IP67Flexibility to choose between overview and detailed images for each stream Cyber security: All Tyco Illustra cameras are covered by the Johnson Controls, Cyber Solutions Product Security Program which has been introduced to give all parties in the supply chain the confidence that Johnson Controls has minimised the possibility of introducing vulnerabilities into its Tyco branded electronic security solutions.
Johnson Controls has added to its successful Illustra Pro camera family with the Illustra Pro Gen3 Bullet, featuring new Smart Wide Dynamic Range that optimizes video quality while minimizing configuration time. Available with standard or telephoto lens and in megapixel resolutions of 3MP and 4K, the Pro Gen3 Bullet provides customers with a selection of video images to match their operational requirements and is ideal for a wide variety of deployments in both medium and large-sized facilities. Smart Wide Dynamic Range available in the Pro Gen3 Bullet reduces configuration time while greatly improving the quality of the video stream in varying lighting environments. By effectively reading the scene, the Bullet can adjust contrasting and overall scene balance without operator intervention. Setup and management costs Setup times are also reduced with the addition of configuration profiles, such as retail, gaming and indoor/outdoor scenes, where camera settings are automatically adjusted based on the environment, with a simple click of a button. The Pro Gen3 Bullet automatically adjusts settings to the desired mount for ceiling or wall for additional labor savings The Pro Gen3 Bullet also automatically adjusts settings to the desired mount for ceiling or wall for additional labor savings. “The smart technology embedded in our latest generation of Illustra Pro cameras automates picture tuning and ensures that what you see is always dynamically optimized even in changing scenes and lighting conditions. We are aiming to reduce operator setup and management costs while always delivering a perfectly configured picture,” said Ric Wilton, Director of Product Management for Illustra. “Adding intelligent, automated capabilities to our solutions is core to our product design and the Illustra portfolio.” Video Intelligence Analytics Building off the previous generation of cameras, the Bullet improves on important features such as Wide Dynamic Range, Illustra IntelliZip bandwidth management, effective failover redundancy, cyber security and Video Intelligence Analytics. Users can offload analytic streaming from network video recorders to the edge on Illustra cameras, saving time and resources. This feature, Video Intelligence Analytics, provides real-time, user-customisable event alarms that allow for quick reaction to incidents. By gathering transformative data instantly, users can better allocate human resources elsewhere. As part of the Tyco Cyber Protection Product Security Program, the new generation of Illustra Pro cameras will also have enhanced safeguards against cyber attacks. Cyber-threat resilience With cyber-threat resilience in mind, the solution includes “secure boot” which prompts the installer to change passwords upon installation. Additional safeguard controls include an enhanced security mode, which forces the use of complex, non-default passwords and encrypted communications. The Pro Gen3 Bullet is now available for order in both 3MP and 8MP form factors, with additional options coming soon.
Johnson Controls has updated its popular Illustra Pro camera family with a new generation of Illustra Pro Mini-Domes featuring Smart Wide Dynamic Range. Offering a choice of 2, 3, 5 and 8 megapixel models and a variety of lens options, the new Pro Mini-Domes are ideal for a wide range of deployments in both medium and large-sized facilities. Smart WDR technology This new Smart Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology built into the new Mini-Domes greatly improves the quality of images captured in varying lighting environments. By continuously analyzing the scene, Smart WDR, without operator intervention, automatically adjusts tone mapping intensity and optimizes the quality of the captured images by enhancing darkened areas, without over-saturating brighter areas. Setup times are also reduced with the addition of configuration profiles, such as auto, LPR, casino, indoor, outdoor, shutter priority and iris priority, where camera settings are automatically adjusted based on the environment, with a simple click of a button. Video intelligence analytics The new Mini-Domes also offer wide field of view and narrow field of view options, and are packaged in a bubble-free IP66 environmentally sealed and IK10 vandal-resistant housing, instead of a transparent dome cover usually fitted to dome cameras. This negates the potential problem of IR diffused reflection and maximizes image quality, regardless of the camera tilt angle. The new generation of Mini-Domes also have enhanced safeguards against cyber attacks The new Illustra Pro Mini-Domes feature video intelligence analytics, which means users can offload analytic streaming from network video recorders to the edge, saving time and resources. Users can select from a choice of 10 video analytics tools, including object detection, object abandoned/removed, crowd formation, dwell and perimeter protection in order to set up real-time, user-customizable event alarms which will enable them to respond quickly to any incidents and make best use of human resources. Cyber Solutions Product Security As part of the Johnson Controls, Cyber Solutions Product Security Program, the new generation of Mini-Domes also have enhanced safeguards against cyber attacks. With cyber-threat resilience in mind, the Mini-Domes feature ‘secure boot’ which prompts the installer to change the default password at the time of installation. Additional safeguard controls include an enhanced security mode which forces the use of complex, non-default passwords and encrypted communications.
