Oncam Technologies CEO FirasBashee said there is no better placethan India to launch new technology Oncam, the security division of Oncam Technologies, formally launched its regional office in India at an event held on 14th October at the British High Commissioner's residence in Delhi. The following day, representatives from more than 120 leading businesses, as well as local dignitaries, attended a technology seminar there, which showcased Oncam’s award-winning 360-degree technology. St. John Gould, the British High Commission Director for UKTI and Prosperity in India, said: "Oncam is a great example of a bright, innovative and advanced company bringing British technology to the global market. Their 360-degree camera solutions are used widely in the U.K. and other countries, and we look forward to seeing their success in India. Prime Minister Modi has encouraged international businesses to engage with India. U.K. businesses like Oncam are doing this in significant numbers." India is experiencing a technology boom comparable to Silicon Valley. With 1.2 billion inhabitants, India is the 10th-largest economy in the world relative to its GDP. Companies worldwide are actively introducing technologies, injecting cash and creating new companies - lots of them. According to a February 2014 report by SeedStar, nearly 2,500 startups were born in India, and with nearly 50 percent of its total population under 47, that trend is certain to continue, helped greatly by an incredibly young and savvy tech-oriented workforce. Oncam is no stranger to the region. Last month, the company launched its new office in Singapore, and it has already invested heavily in India by opening a new office in Gurgaon and hiring local tech experts; it is already providing state-of-the-art, 360-degree surveillance for Orphans Village, Delhi’s new, purpose-built orphanage, comprised of 24 buildings and an integral school. Oncam is already providingstate-of-the-art, 360-degreesurveillance for OrphansVillage, Delhi’s new, purpose-built orphanage, comprisedof 24 buildings and anintegral school "As we expand into Asia, there is no better country than India for us to launch our new technology," said Firas Bashee, CEO of Oncam Technologies, "With one of the fastest growing economies in the world, its critical infrastructure, locational advantage, population, workforce, and one of the most developed higher education systems across the globe, we are excited at the opportunities and the partnerships we can create in India." Technical solutions seminar Total Situational Awareness was the seminar’s news focus; a live demonstration powerfully illustrated how 360-degree surveillance, which offers live and retrospective analysis of an entire scene, could provide companies in the region with an efficient and scalable solution to immediately enhance the safety and security of their businesses - be they concerned with critical infrastructure, retail, banking, transport or any number of other sectors. Oncam’s innovative and patented 360-degree technology was warmly received; attendees immediately grasped the benefits that the pioneering technology would bring to their companies as the demonstration clearly illustrated why the MGM hotels in Las Vegas - the Aria, MGM Grand, Bellagio and Mirage - as well as Subways stores worldwide and Royal Caribbean cruise lines, among other entities, have chosen Oncam’s technology.
Adrian will set a strong direction and strategy for Oncam’s sales and management teams worldwide Oncam, The security division of Oncam Technologies, has named industry veteran Adrian Marsh as its new COO. Graham Wallis will continue as Oncam’s Regional President of the Americas but will transition the role of COO, effective immediately. Marsh has been in the IT industry for more than 30 years, having started as an R&D engineer in the telecommunications space. He then spent 10 years at technology-incubator and telecom pioneer Newbridge Networks and, after it exceeded $1 billion in annual revenues and had obtained the number-one market share in the Wide Area Network market, he took his talents to Nortel Enterprise Division (now Avaya), where he spent seven years in senior roles from Global Accounts to heading up their EMEA channel. However, the burgeoning and soon-to-be integral world of information security beckoned. Marsh joined Trend Micro, a $1 billion global leader in the industry, where he was initially responsible for global business operations pertaining to small-to-medium sized businesses with their unique IT needs. He helped to rapidly build this segment, and it became responsible for approximately 30 percent of Trend Micro’s overall revenues. Subsequently, he was responsible for running the company’s European channels and he eventually became vice president of international markets. Immediately prior to joining Oncam, Adrian had successfully established his own consultancy business, Cirrus Europe, advising both technology startups and more established companies on channel strategy as well as how to enter new markets. He was especially effective with companies looking to reinvigorate an established channel or to evolve strategy reflective of today’s omnipresent cloud-computing paradigm. “The COO is a vital role, and Adrian’s vast expertise will help position us as the leading security and technology firm going into the future,” said Firas I. Bashee, Group CEO for Oncam Technologies, “Utilising his extraordinary background, Adrian will set a strong direction and strategy for our company’s sales and management teams worldwide.”
