Oncam Achieves SOC 2 In Video Surveillance

Oncam, a provider of intelligent cloud video surveillance solutions, announces it has successfully achieved System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 certification, following an independent audit of its security controls and operational processes. Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 Type 2 is one of the industry’s most rigorous independent audits for evaluating how organizations manage, secure and govern customer data. The independent audit confirms that across all tested controls, including access management, infrastructure security, monitoring, and incident response, Oncam successfully met all controls with no exceptions noted, confirming the effectiveness of Oncam’s internal security, systems and processes. Robust security protocols “Achieving SOC 2 Type 2 certification is an important milestone for Oncam, as it validates the security and operational rigor across our entire platform,” said Scott Brothers, Chief Operating Officer at Oncam. “The independent audit validated controls across the full Oncam ecosystem — from our cloud platform and cameras to firmware, gateway software, and mobile apps — confirming that our controls are operating effectively. In the security industry, SOC 2 Type 2 is increasingly a non-negotiable requirement, and this certification reflects Oncam’s ongoing commitment to strengthening compliance, maintaining robust security protocols and ensuring our customers’ data is protected.” Protecting sensitive information For security integrators, technology partners and end users, the certification provides assurance that Oncam maintains robust controls to protect sensitive information across the full video ecosystem. Oncam’s infrastructure is hosted on AWS and incorporates encryption for data in transit and at rest, strict access controls, as well as monitored system operations designed to protect sensitive video data and customer information. “Security and compliance are fundamental responsibilities for any organization entrusted with managing sensitive video data,” said Ragini Sidhu, Vice President of HR & Compliance at Oncam. Video surveillance systems “The SOC 2 Type 2 audit provides independent validation that our policies, procedures and operational controls are designed and functioning as intended across the business. For our partners and customers, it reinforces that Oncam maintains disciplined governance, strong access controls and continuous oversight to protect the integrity, confidentiality and availability of their data.” As video surveillance systems continue to integrate more deeply with IT infrastructure and cloud services, independent validation of security practices is becoming increasingly important. Oncam’s SOC 2 Type 2 certification helps ensure that partners and customers can rely on the company’s platforms to meet evolving security and compliance expectations.

Oncam Unveils Direct-to-Cloud Video Platform

Oncam announced the next phase in its evolution: a forthcoming end-to-end, direct-to-cloud video platform designed to simplify deployment, empower integrators, and redefine enterprise surveillance. The announcement signals a new era for the company as it expands its long-standing expertise in intelligent imaging into a connected, cloud-first ecosystem. Built by Oncam’s UK and US engineering teams, the platform brings together AI-enabled cameras, intelligent IoT devices, and cloud-integrated video management software to deliver smarter performance with less complexity. The system is designed to break down barriers to cloud adoption while maintaining the openness and interoperability that have long been part of Oncam’s approach. “This marks an exciting new chapter for Oncam,” said Scott Brothers, Chief Operating Officer. “We’re combining two decades of imaging innovation with a modern approach to AI, cloud, and connectivity, always with our channel partners in mind. Our channel-first strategy remains central as we invite select integrators to join as Founding Partners and help shape what’s next for the industry.” Smarter, safer, simpler surveillance At the heart of the roadmap is Oncam Core, a unified web and mobile platform that delivers real-time visibility and actionable insights across the surveillance ecosystem. Built on open standards and fully ONVIF-compliant, it integrates seamlessly with third-party cameras — while Oncam’s edge-optimized devices are the preferred choice for unlocking the full power of the platform’s cloud-native architecture. The next-generation camera family, including bullet, dome, turret, and panoramic form factors, is being engineered for plug-and-play direct-to-cloud deployment. Fully NDAA and TAA compliant, the range features dual SD slots for edge resilience, multiple power options (PoE and USB-C), integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and on-device AI acceleration to support analytics at the edge. Technology partners and infrastructure To enable this evolution, Oncam is working with several major technology providers. Qualcomm Dragonwing processors power the system’s on-device AI capabilities, enabling advanced analytics such as behavior detection, facial recognition, and anomaly alerts while reducing bandwidth impact. “By combining Qualcomm Dragonwing processors with Oncam’s imaging expertise, we’re unlocking a new generation of smart cameras capable of advanced analytics and real-time insights at the edge,” said Sebastiano Di Filippo, Senior Director, Business Development, Qualcomm Europe, Inc. Sandisk edge storage Sandisk edge storage provides high-endurance local recording designed to eliminate the need for traditional NVR infrastructure. Russell Ruben, Director, Technical Segment Marketing, Sandisk added, “Our collaboration with Oncam demonstrates how high-endurance edge storage can transform surveillance, making intelligent video systems more reliable, cost-efficient, and scalable.” The platform’s cloud services are built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to ensure global reliability and scalability. “We’re designing for resilience at every layer, from intelligent devices at the edge to a secure, scalable cloud backbone,” said Jon Marsh, Chief Technology Officer at Oncam. “That combination will give integrators and enterprises faster deployment, lower maintenance, and a clear path toward full cloud adoption.” Commitment to existing partners As Oncam introduces its direct-to-cloud strategy, the company remains committed to its current strategic alliance and technology partners, including those who bring Oncam cameras to market. Existing product lines, support programs, and integrations will continue as Oncam’s roadmap expands.
