The nature of the site and the events, and the high level dignitaries in attendance demand the highest levels of preparedness and diligence. We work closely with the management at Capel-le-Ferne to ensure their events run smoothly and security is effective but unobtrusive. The newly created CSSC Southern Region will cover Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire. The setting up of a Southern Region is the logical next step in the further expansion of the scheme and we are looking into setting up other regional schemes.” David Ward added, “The CSSC initiative is a crucially important way of bringing together stakeholders to maximum effect and I have been very impressed by the results of the London, East and Scottish schemes. Ward Security has supplied team of sixteen operatives for visit by Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to Folkstone Ward Security, one of the UK’s leading providers of security services, has supplied a team of sixteen operatives for a visit by Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to Folkstone, where the Queen opened The Wing visitor center at the National Memorial to the Few in Capel-le-Ferne - dedicated to pilots that engaged in the Battle of Britain. Royal Visit - A Complex and Sensitive Operation “A Royal visit is always a particularly complex and sensitive operation,” explained David Ward, MD of Ward Security. “This is made even more complex when a Royal visit includes more than one site and the party is on a tightly controlled deadline. It is crucial that people have access to greet Her Majesty at each site, but security needs to be carefully and professionally managed in a way that is not intrusive. Also, the Royal security team accompanying the party will need help in understanding the different sites and locations and potential threat angles, and this is further complicated if they have one eye on moving safely to the next locations. This complicates the logistics and planning, so additional security to that provided by police and the security services needs to be especially efficient and effective in its operation in order to provide adequate support. “With a regional office in Kent, Ward Security has the local knowledge to make the process easier for this particular visit, but crucially we have the experience of working with police and the security services, which makes liaison, planning and delivery easier. Plus, as a company we have vast experience in providing security for a range of scenarios and operations, and our staff is highly experienced in delivering effective and sensitive security. “However, it has also been a great honor to provide additional security for Her Majesty’s visit, and as a company we are proud to have provided our services for this important and historic visit.” Royal Party Proceeds to Canterbury Cathedral After opening The Wing visitor center, the Royal party proceeded to Canterbury Cathedral where the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh unveiled statues to mark the Diamond Jubilee.
