Media for the marketing program is being supported by Campus Safety Magazine, SDM, Security Dealer and Security Management, among others
The goal of the campaign is to inspire security professionals and/or their employers to sponsor at least one child

Mission 500, a non-profit initiative focusing on the security industry and dedicated to serving the needs of children and communities in crisis, is continuing its integrated marketing campaign beginning in January 2013. Mission 500’s media partners have again joined in offering their support in the form of over US$125,000 in print and electronic media placements to support this important cause.

Media for the marketing program is being supported by Campus Safety Magazine, SDM, Security Dealer, Security Management, Security Magazine, Security Products, Security Sales & Integration, Security Systems News, Security Technology Executive, Ventas de Seguridad, Seguridad en America (two Spanish language Security publications), and their respective web pages and portals. Other publications may contact LRG Marketing Communications for further details.

The goal of the campaign is to inspire security professionals and/or their employers to sponsor at least one child through World Vision’s child sponsorship program. Only $360 per year (tax deductible) helps feed, clothe, educate and tend to the healthcare of a child in need. By ISC West 2013, the campaign aims to sign up at least 250 new children.

The fourth 5K Run / 2K Walk takes place at ISC West on April 11, 2013. The Security 5/2K is the first charity-driven event at an ISC Expo conceived to engage corporate sponsors as well as individuals within the industry. Runners can register for the race on-site at the Mission 500 booth at ISC West, or online. A nominal entry fee of $30.00 will go directly to the charity. In 2012 the event raised almost $95,000 - enough to sponsor 260 children for a full year − providing food, water, education, healthcare and most importantly, hope.

Additionally, participants in the 2013 Security 5K will be able to set up their own customised fundraising pages to lend their support to this effort as individuals, helping to sponsor more children.

Security professionals can also support this cause by downloading a song especially produced for this campaign: “One Child At A Time”, written and produced by Boca Raton-based musician Rick Krive. The song is available for download in a ballad version sung by Mr. Krive, or a dance version sung by artist Tomey Sellars.

The song can also be played through Google. Those interested in purchasing the song through iTunes should paste “One Child at a Time Rick Krive” into the iTunes store search window.
