Pelco by Schneider Electric recently announced that its industry-leading Esprit® Series integrated positioning system is now available in full 1080p high-definition (HD) with the new Esprit HD Series. The Esprit HD Positioning System provides users with crystal-clear, live streaming of images through a standard web browser, a Pelco VMS or integration to other video systems via an API or ONVIF S to deliver on the industry’s need for excellent performance and image quality in all settings, including rugged environments. Today’s news builds on Pelco by Schneider Electric’s existing IP-driven camera solutions that are designed for any lighting condition, application and environment and reinforces the company’s commitment to being IP-driven, customer-focused.
“For more than a decade, the Esprit Series has been a standard for high-performance, integrated PTZ camera systems among security professionals,” said Craig Dahlman, Director of IP Camera products, Schneider Electric, Pelco Video Line of Business. “We’re excited to now offer this industry favorite to our customers with high-definition video and the advanced features the industry has come to trust in the Esprit Series.”
The latest advancements provide seamless integration into virtually any IP-based HD system through customisable settings and are ideal to view details such as faces, license plates, casino playing cards and more. Advancements include:
Exceptional Image clarity: Esprit 1080p HD features up to 1920 x 1080 Resolution; 16:9 Aspect Ratio; 1080p at 30 (ips) and 2.0 Megapixel (MPx), 30X Optical Zoom, 12X Digital Zoom, and wide dynamic range technology. Esprit HD 1080p is an ideal solution when rugged environmental performance and excellent image quality are mission critical.
- User-Defined Customization: Through built-in analytic tools, the Esprit HD system can be programmed with multiple Pelco behaviors and scheduled to work within predetermined times or conditions specific to a business’ needs. For example, a camera can be configured with “Object Counting” to count the number of people that enter a lobby door throughout the day, then adjusted in the evening to detect “Camera Sabotage” to trigger an alarm if a camera is moved or obstructed. Additional customization is available through settings, such as “Window Blanking,” which is used to conceal user-defined privacy areas that cannot be viewed by an operator. The system comes standard with nine preloaded Pelco behaviors. Pelco analytic tools are compatible with Endura and other third-party systems that support alarms using the Pelco API.
- Protected Camera Optics and Electronics: A powder-coated, aluminum construction protects the Esprit HD, making it ideal for indoor and or outdoor applications. The Esprit HD also features a receiver, pan/tilt capabilities and is available with either an Integrated Optics Package (IOP) or a pressurized Integrated Optics Cartridge (IOC) in a single, easy-to-install system. The IOP can provide complete environmental protection and the pressurized IOC can shield camera optics and electronics from moisture and airborne contaminants. Within two hours after powering-up, the entire unit can de-ice and become operational starting at temperatures as low as –25°C (–13°F).
- Seamless Compatibility: Esprit HD supports High-Profile H.264 compression for improved image and audio quality over MPEG-4 that is 20 times more efficient than MJPEG. The positioning system features open architecture connectivity for third-party software recording solutions allowing integration into virtually any IP-based HD system. Additionally, conformity to ONVIF Profile S insures maximum flexibility in integration to other systems. As with all Pelco IP camera solutions, Esprit HD is Endura Enabled™ to record, manage, configure, and view multiple live streams of video. When connected to an Endura® HD network-based video security system, the positioning system has access to EnduraStor™ and EnduraView™ for optimized image quality and bandwidth efficiency.
The new Esprit HD is also compatible with Digital Sentry® NVs (DS NVs), a full-feature video management software, which is available as a free download at www.pelco.com. DS NVs includes four free Pelco IP licenses and allows for the management of video from up to 64 cameras.
