Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalization solutions, recently announced the availability of its latest financial product—the Datacard® CD820™ instant issuance system—giving financial organizations and retailers an affordable approach to instantly issuing payment cards.

With the ability to reduce issuance costs and deliver cards to consumers in a customized and personalized way, the CD820 system offers a wide-range of features to help support a variety of business models. This includes versatile printing options for flat, pre-printed cards that can be personalized with monochrome or full-color printing using direct to card printing technology that creates edge-to-edge coverage with high quality graphics and images.

“We live in a time where innovation and forward-thinking offerings are an everyday consumer demand; and we continue to identify instant issuance as a strong global trend that many organizations are adopting to meet these needs,” said Russell St. John, senior vice president of global marketing for Datacard Group. “We are expanding our instant-issue product portfolio with this innovative product to ensure that we have a broad range of solutions that fit any card issuer’s requirements.”

The CD820 system is also compatible with the patented Datacard® CardWizard® issuance software, which is a proven enterprise software application that is currently installed in thousands of financial institution branch locations. The CardWizard software transfers all cardholder personalization data fully encrypted to the CD820 system—delivering full color dual or single sided cards.

The CD820 system comes in flexible configurations with optional features such as contact and contactless smart card encoding for a seamless transition to issuance of EMV® chip cards, as well as a multi-hopper that increases branch-level operational efficiency by printing up to six different card types.
