University of Surrey relies on CRYPTOCard’s CRYPTO-MAS to secure remote network access
The University uses the CRYPTO-MAS service to secure access for 70 IT workers and 30 support staff
University of Surrey, a leading British institution of higher education, has selected CRYPTO-MAS - CRYPTOCard's user-friendly two-factor authentication managed service - to ensure that only authorized users can access its servers and network.

CRYPTO-MAS secures the digital identities of authorized personnel through two-factor authentication, enabling the University of Surrey to provide secure access to online resources - such as internal web applications and services. The University has used CRYPTOCard products since 2005 and chose to move to the CRYPTO-MAS managed service following the recommendation from partner Data Integration that this would reduce overheads and simplify management of the solution. The University uses the CRYPTO-MAS service to secure access for 70 IT workers and 30 support staff.

Hilary Sherlock, Operations and Network Team Leader at the University of Surrey, says: "This solution has worked perfectly for us as it allows secure access to administer core systems of the university, such as the email system and importantly access to documentation stored on the network. CRYPTO-MAS was the natural selection for us, as it is a flexible solution that has integrated seamlessly with our Juniper-based suite of services."

"Complementing the remote access and security solutions we have implemented at the University of Surrey, CRYPTO-MAS is a market-leading technology that is easy-to-use and provides the University with control of their own infrastructure," says Paul Phillips, Public Sector Practice Director, Data Integration.

Neil Hollister, President and CEO of CRYPTOCard, says: "Remote access is key to uninterrupted running of university networks, however, traditional passwords provide inadequate protection for the highly sensitive data handled by educational institutions. The University of Surrey has recognized the importance of the highly secure two-factor authentication, and we are thrilled our CRYPTO-MAS solution can provide the necessary peace of mind for the University."
