Talk-A-Phone works with organisations such as IACLEA to help educate U.S. Congressional members
Talk-A-Phone became the first company in the world to introduce an ADA-compliant emergency phone

Last week Talk-A-Phone celebrated the 23rd anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. President George H.W. Bush signed the ADA into law on July 26th, 1990, banning discrimination against Americans with disabilities and providing them with new-found opportunities to live fulfilling and productive lives.

Talk-A-Phone has long supported the adoption of this monumental legislation at colleges and universities, and also worked with organizations such as IACLEA to help educate U.S. Congressional members and staff on the importance of continued support for modernisation of campus security to comply with the ADA and other mandates. In 1991 Talk-A-Phone became the first company in the world to introduce an ADA-compliant emergency phone, shortly after the ADAAG's were issued.

Today, Talk-A-Phone takes this historic achievement for granted. But it wasn't until the ADA went into effect that people with disabilities were given equal access to security communication on campuses. Talk-A-Phone is proud to be a part of this victory and to this day it continues to support many campus security associations as well as the ongoing fight for equal rights for the disabled.
