Jack McNamara of Bosch Security Systems, Inc. has been named President of the Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA), an organization dedicated to improving the quality, reliability and value of fire and life safety systems.
McNamara is currently the Marketing Manager for the fire product portfolio for Bosch in North America. He has held a number of roles at the company over the last 15 years, previously serving as a senior product manager and director of industry affairs. His career in the fire safety industry spans nearly 40 years and his experience in installation, service, support, sales and engineering of fire safety products provide him with a wealth of knowledge to draw from.
As President of the AFAA, McNamara will lead the organization in its efforts to deliver high-quality training and educational programs, promote code-compliant installations, advocate for thorough and proper inspection and tests, and increase public awareness of the benefits and importance of fire and life safety systems, and much more.
“The AFAA keeps our industry strong through support of national codes and standards, and the local AFAA state associations assist through support of state codes and standards,” said McNamara. “On both levels, we rely on the involvement of industry professionals to fulfill our mission, and we appreciate those that give back through support of AFAA’s fire and life safety initiatives.”
