Siemens IP Cameras Supported By Milestone Open IP Software

Siemens Building Technologies has recently joined the Milestone Systems' Manufacturer Alliance Programme "MAP" and has already integrated its newest range of hybrid cameras in the latest Milestone software, with more to be added throughout the year. The initiative was based on the decision for future cooperation between Milestone and Siemens to use the synergies of both companies in the fields of open IP software and high quality CCTV IP cameras.Siemens recently successfully released a new range of hybrid MJPEG / MPEG4 cameras CCIx1345, which have now been integrated in the latest Milestone software, released in December 2008. Siemens plans to further expand the range of IP camera products during 2009, including 1.3 Megapixel MJPEG / MPEG4 cameras and fixed domes, as well as IP VGA resolution PTZ domes. New models were previewed on the Siemens stand at the Security Essen exhibition in Germany last year. The new range of cameras  - which can be switched between MJPEG and MPEG4 encoding to offer complete flexibility - comprises ‘colour', ‘day-night' and ‘day-night with wide dynamic' models for use in a multitude of applications. High-performance CCD sensors permit very high light-sensitivity to deliver outstanding images indoors and out, day and night.Frederik De Meyer, Siemens Building Technologies Product Line Head CCTV, comments: "Our customers are increasingly looking towards IP solutions for their video surveillance requirements and this new co-operation will enable us to enhance what we are able to offer. We are delighted to have joined the programme, combining the excellent image quality for which the Siemens range of cameras is known, with Milestone's own excellent reputation in the high-end Video-over-IP market. This partnership will benefit our customers in their increasingly demanding IP applications."

Siemens’ New Hybrid IP Cameras Deliver The Best Of Both Worlds - In More Ways Than One

Using Siemens' Hybrid Technology, the new IP camera range offers the best of both analog and digital, having a standard analog connection for traditional CCTV systems and an Ethernet connector for direct connection to an IP network. But - more importantly - each of the three, new high-sensitivity cameras can also be switched between MJPEG and MPEG4 encoding to offer complete flexibility. So - as well as simplifying the choice for installers, the hybrid IP cameras also reduces stocking, as distributors now need to keep one range to cover both standards.Three new models CCIC1345, CCIS1345, CCIW1345 all support both MJPEG and MPEG4 standardsTrue digital recording over networksPlayback via standard PC video playersUser-friendly and secureThe new range comprises ‘colour', ‘day-night' and ‘day-night with wide dynamic' models for use in a multitude of applications.  High-performance CCD sensors permit very high light-sensitivity to deliver outstanding images indoors and out, day and night.Digital recording of streaming images over a network is possible in MJPEG mode via Siemens' SISTORE MX - the hybrid video recording system - or SISTORE MX NVS when using a standard PC running Network Video Software.  When in MPEG4 mode, streaming recording is possible using video codec in SISTORE CX (version 3.5).The cameras support Real Time Streaming Protocol (RSTP) and when in MPEG4 mode, video streams can be replayed on a standard PC video player.  This means they can also be integrated into existing applications very easily. It is possible to access the cameras and view the images from any standard Web browser.  Passwords, user-profiles, and integrated firewall, ensure protection against unwanted access.
