Lenel, one of the sources of advanced security systems in the UK and Ireland, will be showcasing a number of innovative mobile security and safety solutions at the IFSEC International security exhibition in London, June 20-22. Visitors to stand G1300 will learn how mobile devices are making access to hotels, office buildings and homes more convenient and user-friendly. Lenel products in the UK are offered through UTC Fire & Security UK, a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. BlueDiamond “We’re extending our mobile technology across the portfolio,” said James Wheeler, regional director, Lenel UK & ROI. “With the recently introduced BlueDiamond mobile credentials and readers for Lenel systems, we can provide customers mobile credentialing for enterprise-wide commercial applications.” Integrated into the OnGuard 7.3 platform, the new BlueDiamond mobile ecosystem is a complete cloud-based service with a smartphone app and Bluetooth readers. Credentials are activated by email and the smartphone app detects the readers when nearby, while the access control system authorises or denies entry based on current access rights. An add-on version of the reader can provide Bluetooth capability to most existing readers. Smartphones reduce the need for employee access cards, diminishing the cost and security concerns that go along with plastic badges. They also provide an added layer of identification when device PIN codes or biometric verification are enabled. Rather than use a dedicated badging station equipped with a computer, camera and card printer, the new OnGuard credentials module allows administrators to onboard a new employee, take their photo, and issue a mobile credential to their phone – all from a tablet while being out of their office. “Our mobile technology is expanding the way professionals interact with and protect their smart buildings,” added Wheeler.
Lenel will also highlight access-intrusion integration based on the Advisor Master panel range Lenel Systems International, a provider of integrated access and video solutions, will present Prism, its open Internet protocol (IP) video management solution (VMS), at the upcoming International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference (IFSEC). Prism is based on an advanced, intuitive and operator-friendly user interface and features OnGuard compatibility. Lenel is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. Offered in three configurations (standard, professional and enterprise), and available as a stand-alone VMS or integrated with OnGuard, Prism is scalable, flexible and reliable to meet evolving video surveillance needs. Prism fits in an enterprise video platform by offering customers a single user-friendly VMS for small to large installations, whether they are using Lenel network video recorders or UltraView recording engines. “By combining OnGuard and Prism industry-leading products with more than 100 open access alliance partners (OAAP), close to 100 OAAP-certified products and supporting more than 300 third-party cameras, customers can tailor the Lenel solution according to their specific security demands,” said James Wheeler, regional director, Lenel UK and Ireland. Lenel will also highlight access-intrusion integration based on the Advisor Master panel range, a proprietary intrusion platform that is well-known in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The Advisor Master panels interface with OnGuard to provide functionality similar to the already available interfacing intrusion solutions. The Advisor Master platform carries the EMEA-required intrusion certifications EN-50131. The functionality provided includes secondary alarm monitoring, area arming and disarming, and zone bypassing and unbypassing. "For many of our customers managing complex sites, the possibility to integrate certified products into one common interface, to simplify operations and to improve overall security in an application is a must" Integrated locking system (ILS) will be another highlight at the show. The ILS locks have been built from the ground up with OnGuard integration in mind. Lenel ILS extends security systems’ reach by bringing traditional online access control functionality to electromechanical locks, helping to address the need to control all interior doors under the same system. Engineered with a modular design, Lenel ILS allows for a variety of configurations to match any installation. Reader type, wireless connectivity, handles, finishes and chassis type are user-selectable options. OnGuard offers real-time mobile monitoring of OnGuard alarms on mobile devices, offering a mobile-friendly look, feel and interface for enhanced user experience. Users are able to receive and acknowledge alarms on a variety of mobile platforms anywhere a data-capable wireless connection is available. This is fully integrated with OnGuard permissions, segmentation access and monitoring zone assignment and includes complete reporting capabilities on specific mobile devices and user transactions within OnGuard. “For many of our customers managing complex sites, the possibility to integrate certified products into one common interface, to simplify operations and to improve overall security in an application is a must. Therefore, we look forward to showcase our OnGuard open architecture,” Wheeler added. Just as security needs are always evolving, Lenel and OnGuard also advance continuously, building and supporting the most innovative and tightly integrated access and video software security solutions in the world, empowering their customers to better protect and manage their people, property and assets. Full training and support is provided by Lenel UK and Ireland.
