The products allow for a highly discreet installation since the small sensor units can be installed virtually out of view in tight places and the main unit can be placed up to 12 m away where there is space for it. "AXIS F44 is another innovative product from Axis,” says Erik Frännlid, Axis’ Director of Product Management. “AXIS F44 provides a simple and cost-effective solution for monitoring up to four different areas within a site using just one main unit. The small modular sensor units can also be easily relocated or changed after the initial installation, giving users additional flexibility. It is an ideal solution for small video surveillance areas such as in stores, in and around ATMs and in buses.” In the autumn, as part of a game called Stratocaching (which combines high-altitude balloons with geocaching) in the Czech Republic, an AXIS F44 Main Unit and two connected AXIS F1005-E Sensor Units were sent up in a stratospheric balloon. Recording views of the journey from the two sensor units simultaneously, AXIS F44 provided HDTV videos that included the balloon’s ascent to an altitude of 29.3 km (18 miles) above ground, the subsequent balloon burst, the distribution of the stratocaches with GPS transmitters and the dramatic fall with a parachute. (See video). “The Stratocaching event clearly demonstrated the ruggedness and exceptional video performance of the AXIS F products,” says Frännlid. “AXIS F44 and AXIS F1005-E Sensor Units performed in turbulent conditions and extremely low temperatures. They are a testament to the high quality of Axis’ products.” AXIS F44 is a high-performance unit that supports: Simultaneous streaming of four separate high-resolution 1080p videos at 12.5/15 frames per second (50/60 Hz) or four HDTV 720p videos at full frame rate Quad view, a stream made up of four separate views from the connected sensor units Two-way audio Input/output ports for external devices to enhance alarm management RS232 port for integration of external data to the video Local storage of recordings using its two built-in full-sized SD card slots Power over Ethernet, as well as the option of connecting to an 8-28 V DC power supply Intelligent video capabilities such as video motion detection, active tampering alarm and downloadable applications through the AXIS Camera Application Platform. AXIS Q6000-E Network Camera is an innovative network camera offering a 360° overview provided by four 2 megapixel camera heads, and when integrated with AXIS Q60-E it simultaneously offers high detail optical zoom on areas of interest, with just one click. Axis Communications, the world leader in network video, announces AXIS Q6000-E, an outdoor-ready 360° network camera that integrates seamlessly with the AXIS Q60-E Series of PTZ dome network cameras, providing a unique surveillance solution. With just a single click, operators can optically zoom in on details of interest with high precision while at the same time being able to maintain an overview of large areas of up to 20.000m² (215,000 sq. ft.) – about the size of four football fields. This makes the AXIS Q6000-E ideal for city surveillance applications such as monitoring of public squares and parking lots, as well as food courts in shopping malls and other open areas. “The AXIS Q6000-E addresses the need for a simple way to monitor a wide area and, simultaneously, be able to optical zoom in on details,” says Erik Frännlid, Director of Product Management, Axis Communications. “The seamless integration with AXIS Q60-E Series of outdoor PTZ cameras provides a smart, innovative and space-efficient solution offering new and unique video surveillance possibilities.” This new product will open up new opportunities to solve a common problem, for example in the city surveillance field where there is a need for both a PTZ camera to provide detail, and for a full overview camera to cover the entire area. A single click on any object in AXIS Q6000-E, using the one-click PTZ control feature, will trigger the AXIS Q60-E allowing operators to optically zoom in on the specific object of interest. The use of two screens gives a full 360° overview from AXIS Q6000-E, and a zoomed-in view from AXIS Q60-E, providing operators with a high level of detail while simultaneously being able to maintain an overview of the entire monitored area. AXIS Q6000-E provides multiple, individually configurable video streams in H.264 compression to greatly optimize bandwidth and storage without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is also supported for increased flexibility. Any AXIS Q60- E camera is quickly and easily mounted inside the AXIS Q6000-E, allowing also existing AXIS Q60-E installations to be upgraded to monitor wide areas, while simultaneously capturing every detail of interest, with just one click. There’s no need for any mounting brackets or extra equipment as AXIS Q6000-E uses the same brackets and network cable as the AXIS Q60-E, minimizing time and cost of installation. Furthermore, AXIS Q6000-E is supplied with Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) through AXIS Q60-E, eliminating the need for power cables. AXIS Q6000-E is supported by the industry’s largest base of video management software through the Axis Application Development Partner Program. The camera includes support for AXIS Camera Companion, AXIS Camera Application Platform, ONVIF specification for interoperability of network video products and AXIS Video Hosting System (AVHS) with One-Click Camera Connection.
Axis Communications, the global leader in network video surveillance, recently introduced a modular camera series, the AXIS F Network Series, that not only gives customers discreet surveillance solutions with HDTV 1080p video and Axis’ latest Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) performance for high image detail, but also great flexibility in choosing the lens form factor and viewing angle that are ideal for the installation. “AXIS F Series enables great flexibility and discreetness with superb video performance, even in high-contrast lighting conditions,” said Erik Frännlid, Axis’ director of product management. “The series is based on a divided network camera concept, where the camera is split in two parts: a lens/image sensor unit, and a main unit. This concept was first introduced in the AXIS P12 Series. When we developed the AXIS F Series, we took into account AXIS P12 feedback to provide customers with even better solutions.” The “divided network camera” concept allows a small sensor unit to be installed discreetly in tight places and the bigger main unit to be placed elsewhere and away from public view. The series includes an AXIS F41 Main Unit and four compatible AXIS F sensor units that are sold separately with different form factors and lens types for different field of views. AXIS F41 Main Unit houses the processor, network, power, SD card slot and other connections, and can connect to one AXIS F sensor unit. Each sensor unit, which consists of a lens and image sensor, comes with the choice of a 10-ft. or 39-ft. pre-mounted cable for connecting to the main unit. “The small sensor units give users the flexibility to easily and discreetly install [the cameras], even in very tight spaces,” said Frännlid. “They can be flush-mounted in walls, ceilings, doorways, elevators and behind sheet metal with only the small lens surface visible — in the case of the pinhole unit, just a tiny hole for the lens [can be seen]. Certain AXIS F sensor units can also withstand tough conditions such as vibrations, shocks and temperature fluctuations, which make them ideal for use inside and outside of emergency vehicles. The modular concept also gives customers the flexibility to purchase the sensor unit that is ideal for their application.” AXIS F41 Main Unit supports the following features: Axis’ Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) – Forensic Capture, which was announced last week with the launch of AXIS Q1615/-E Network Camera and enables details from both bright and dark areas of a scene to be visible. WDR – Forensic Capture is ideal for scenarios such as at entrances or in front of ATMs where the subject may be dark against a bright background, or in night time situations where the camera must handle low-light environments together with bright lights from vehicles, street lamps, signage and stores HDTV 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second, ideal for capturing fast-moving objects and generating smoother video Two-way audio Input/output ports to external devices for enhanced alarm management RS232 port for integration of external data to the video Full-sized SD card slot for local storage Power over Ethernet, as well as the option of connecting to an external power supply Intelligent video capabilities such as video motion detection, active tampering alarm and downloadable applications through the AXIS Camera Application Platform The four compatible AXIS F sensor units (with two different cable lengths to choose from) consist of: IP66-rated AXIS F1005-E Sensor Unit with a fixed lens and 113° horizontal field of view AXIS F1015 Sensor Unit with a varifocal lens for a 53° to 108° horizontal field of view AXIS F1025 Sensor Unit with a pinhole lens and 89° horizontal field of view IP66-rated AXIS F1035-E Sensor Unit with a fisheye lens for a 194° horizontal field of view AXIS F41 Main Unit offers AXIS Camera Companion video management software and is supported by AXIS Camera Station and the industry’s largest base of video management software through the Axis Application Development Partner Program.
