Coinciding with World Health & Safety Day on April 28th, Octavian will be giving away 10 certificated eLearning courses, which will offer winners the chance to gain an official certification covering the basics of Health & Safety. Academy Offers Range Of Courses From Security Training To Risk Assessments Offering a range of courses, from security training to risk assessments and food hygiene qualifications, the Octavian Training Academy has been launched to up skill existing Octavian staff, provide additional training for its clients and also open up learning opportunities for members of the public. The SIA’s Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), which is responsible for regulating the private security industry, awarded Nottingham-based Octavian with 157 points - an increase of 25 points on last year’s score Octavian Security, the leading UK security provider, has once again been ranked in the top 5% of UK businesses following its annual Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) audit. The SIA’s Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), which is responsible for regulating the private security industry, awarded Nottingham-based Octavian with 157 points - an increase of 25 points on last year’s score. Over four days, ACS auditors assessed Octavian Security across all of its working practices, including; strategy, processes, CRM, financial management, leadership and CSR. At the close of the inspection, Octavian was just 17 points short of receiving the maximum score. The voluntary ACS scheme, managed by the SIA as part of its remit to raise performance standards and to assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities, ensures a registered approval and inspection system for providers of security services. Earl Knight, Commercial Director at Octavian Security, said: “This year’s ACS audit clearly demonstrates that the changes implemented in 2014 have had a positive effect on our business. For instance, we have focused a lot on staff engagement and motivation over the last year.
